Title: Recent podcasts playing slowly
Post by: The Freeholder on October 04, 2009, 06:56:53 PM
Starting with DRTV #122, the sampling rate went from 22 khz to 11 khz.  My old Creative Zen Xtra player doesn't seem to approve of this, and the podcast now plays v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.  I know that some iPods can speed things up, but this old guy can't do it as far as I can tell.  Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?  I miss being able to listen on the way to work.

For sound editing I use GoldWave.  With the program, you can convert it to the format that best works for your Zen.  Just use the "save as" file function, select the frequency/sampling rate you want and presto.  It's not very expensive.  There may be other programs available, so do a search for sound editing software.  I'll run a test and report back.
