Mike thanks for posting that.  It's not too far from where I live (Tulsa or Arkansas)...about 2 hours.

I plan on making the competition.  Anyone else here?

Who knows....maybe we'll see Alf there.  Mike are you thinking about attending...coronavirus and economy permitting?

I am planning sir.

I just heard about it today, and I have wanted to do Rimfire Challenge for years.  I have a nice MarkIII that just needs a red dot, and I have a 10/22 that with a new trigger group and red dot would work.  I also have a range that does monthly matches 85 miles from me - In Indiana on the Michigan border.

This is a game that if we still lived in Minnesota I would buy a set of plates (one stage worth) and set it up in my yard.  Sadly, those things don't fly in the big city.

October 9-11.  I'm going to have to practice some so I don't drag up the bottom.  I put a dot sight on the day of (when they had it at USSA) and boy was that a mistake....

Hey you guys.  A little birdie told me that MB has filming this Rimfire Challenge competition in Fort Smith on the schedule.

I hope the Coronamona is over before then.

Mike and I are planning to be there.....

So many regional and national competitions that were scheduled for this spring have been moved to the fall.  Sept and October are just slammed with tournaments.

I've already paid for slots at:

USPSA Rev nationals, Talladega, 9/6.
GSSF  Nationals, Talladega , 9/18-20.
GSSF RiverBend, Dawsonville, 10/9-11

These along with ICORE IRC, Frostproof, I wouldn't want to miss.

I really do want to compete in RC, but there just aren't that many nearby.   I did go to the one held in RockCastle, TN, but now that they've closed I don't know think there are any matches in the southeast.

How did you like RockCastle?  I remember looking at an aerial photo of that place thinking I was going to retire and go and shoot there a couple of years back.

Rockcastle was great.  The lodge a little dated, but clean and neat.   What was nice was having everybody on premise and in the evenings sitting outside with everybody while being entertained by local musicians (even some competitors).

I hope somebody with more money than sense will buy it up, update the lodge and reopen it again.

&#@^%&  It's cancelled.  I was going to get on the bubble and start practicing.  Now I guess it'll have to be for next year.  I think this virus crap is way overblown.  I wish they had gone ahead with the competition.

I was afraid my nephew had planned his wedding for the same weekend.  I sweated it for six weeks.  One day I got the info from him, and they were different weekends, and the next day they posted that the Match was cancelled.  Talk about a roller coaster of emotions.

This has been one big lost year.  Real or fake, appropriate of over kill, it doesn't matter.  Everything is strange.  Yesterday I was reading for some classes I am taking, and slowly my mind drifted to current events.  Think about the media, the "experts," politicians, and even the general public.  We have become a pessimistic society.  Everything is doom and gloom.  Every stat is based on the worst.  No positive about the future, only what we will never be able to do ever again.  Why don't we look at all the positives?  A 4% positive result for daily tests is a 96% negative.  Fifty percent more positives today than yesterday is often because of a 75% increase in testing.  Millions are out of work, but no talk of how several of those out of work are making more money on relief than on the job ($15/hr for 40 hrs = $600/week, and they were getting $600/week + their regular unemployment).

Just call me a Drift Specialist, but I have vented.  I will live with a year of no shooting events, but please look to a positive future and strive to achieve it.

I started looking for RCSA sanctioned matches in and around Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma and nothing.  Closest things I see for me are in Spring, Texas, and Woodville, Alabama,...both day drives.

So I'm guessing the thing to do is to find a non-sanctioned match and practice up and then hit a sanctioned match.  As popular as these rimfire matches appear it would seem that there would be more sanctioned matches but there aren't.  Some clubs sponsor quite a few matches but then it's a "desert" inbetween clubs.  What up?

Orlando is the closest monthly matches, 8 hours away.

The Cavern Cove, Woodville, AL, is sponsoring the World and is less than 2 hours from here,  BUT, they don't have any matches scheduled between then and now.  Also Rim Fire World is the week right after World IDPA.  I'll think about it.

Best I think anyone can do to practice for is shoot Steel Challenge which there are a lot of, at least around ATL.

UPDATE:   RCSA web page has only the World Match listed for Woodville, AL.  However, if you go to Practiscore turns out they are doing monthly matches.  Come on guys, either keep the RCSA web page up to date or just refer everyone to Practiscore.

So I see two Practiscore apps for apple.  One of them is $10.  I suppose the $10 one is what you need?

No. No.  Practiscore for competitors is a web site.  No app needed.  The app is for the Match directors.  It’s loaded on tablets and used for match setup and scoring.

Thanks for straightening that out for me!  I knew I was missing something.
