When printing the target, does the black center measure 2" and the red approx 5/8"?
Just wanted to make sure this printer is behaving.

Print it full scale on 8-1/2 x 11 paper and they're correct scale.

I use a heavier bond paper to keep them flat.

Everyone who enters wins.

You might win the bragging rights, or not, but you WILL come away rewarded by knowing you will be helping a good cause.

Take care.

Of course, I was the only one entered for it and it wasn't an official class, but I'm still proud of it  ;D ;D ;D

No kidding, I just did a practice run since I've not pressed a trigger in 16 months.

It showed!   :P :P :P

Next time I'll shoot my targets or just "pencil" them in!

I'll use ink for the check though.. ;)

HEAR YEA!  HEAR YE!  Let the gauntlet be laid down.

I'm not saying whether this was 7.5, 10, or 25yds;  sandbag or off hand.

I don't want anyone to be discouraged, so I'll throw this one away and go with whatever today's range session brings.  ;)

And to further help encourage you let me post my target from last year's 100yd off hand.

(no mistake, that's what I submitted last year......and yes I really tried.)

I managed to complete my targets.    (Checks in the mail.)

Remember it's more about the charitable contribution than it is winning any humongous prize.....which there ain't anyway.

I'm still waiting on the $25,000 shopping spree at Barrett, with breakfast at the hidden bunker with MB.., and a $5000 Midway Gift Card, with an all expense paid trip to Thunder Ranch...

(crickets),.....

BUT,.....the bragging rights for 2012 is a big thing....and your right...The contribution will go to those that truly need it.

After all it's Christmas....

Nice shootin' there alf!!! Especially 4B!!!

The bar is set!!!

Hmm, guess I need some more practice. I was pretty happy in 4A until the 3rd shot.

A little happier in 2B. Used Federal XM193 ammo for this BTW.

The entries are "trickling in".....The time to tout your knowledge and translate it to a target is running short. Take your favorite firearm, print out a target, shoot 5 times, and mail it with 5 bucks.

With this much ingenuity and resourcefulness, I should expect this crowd to really step up...

 8)

Although the "bus" bunker ain't a bad idea,.... ;)

For those that submitted targets, I got them and you have been practicing....

Thank you...

Any way to extend the deadline?  Maybe an extra week?  The weather and the holidays have derailed my last couple of planned range visits.

If there are no objections, with the holidays, and weather considerations, I have no trouble extending it another week to January 10.

My rail gun has been laid up for months with a bad capacitor, but that didn't stop me.  I resorted to the old tried and true antique gunpowder guns.

Sending me a burnt up target with the bullseye resembling charcoal will help your chances.....It's the fella' with the high speed, low drag, mechanical/tactical pencils that you have to watch for... :P

Just please don't shoot your eye out... ;)

Are air rifles allowed?

Not that I have one at the moment and my range time is limited.  I can borrow one and shoot out back of the mobile home park where I'm living at the moment!

Either way, a check will get there eventually but a job comes first!

Great for me!!!

I'll pick a few that I want to do, and get to creating empty brass ;D

I started a new league last night - Sport Rifle.  Five shots each on five bulls.  Fifty foot indoor range with .22 rimfire.  No thumb hole, no bull barrels, and no slings.  This is a handicap match meaning that us bad shooters get extra shots - Match one the top shooter scores 228; subtract your match one score from that, and that is how many extra shots you get on your target; with a perfect score being five bulls per bulls eye you can divide your handicap shots however you want; after the first match they average match scores and your match handicap is based off the highest average; so in the end it is possible for the best and worst shooter to be within only a few points of each other.  Last night was match two, but my first night.  I saw that the high for night one was 220 and the low was 146.  I shot a 160 on my first target.  I decided to shoot target two right away so I would be on schedule.  By the time I shot my first 25 shots (five per bull on five bulls) and my handicap of 60 shots I ended up with a score of 213 (week two's top score is 228).  By the way, my raw score, the first 25 shots, improved by 27 over match one  ;D  This is a fun game if you are looking to bring something new to your club that will let everyone compete.  We are using the NRA A-32 targets.

Redialed my scope for fifty feet using a rest and didn't notice how heavy and gritty the 10/22 trigger is.  Got to the range and shot low low low.  Put the gun back on a rest and printed a one inch group of 25 shots right where I put the crosshairs.  Got home and at midnight I was looking not only at a new trigger for the rifle, but also a new scope (the base optics don't focus well at 50'), new trigger kit for my Ruger Mark III (s) (one with red dot and one open sight - both for bulls eye), new bulls eye grip for the main Mark III, ...  At last check my wish list is well over $1K  :o

Thread drift off  ;D

I will try to get some more holes in paper and send you a happy packet  ;D

I went to the range today for the first time in ages.  Boy does it show.  But anyway, this is for charity, and I'll share my targets with you.

I'm going to send both in even though they're from the same class, they're from different guns.  That should count for something, right?

I have received all the entries.....WOW!!!! I am reviewing all targets with:

because some of you members really can shoot
.... ;)

One category, has a textbook bullseye that cannot be denied....(We're talikin' Robin Hood split an arrow bullseye.)

One category has a simply clean and BIG hole for a grouping...

One is so tight, I need the digi caliper to split hairs with another entry.

One entry has me glad they are on our side...

I am so glad those that participated stepped up. It all goes to a great cause. Once all the targets are recorded, the entire package of targets and contributions goes to Marshal'ette, for final review and announcement of winners. (This week).

Thank you again DRTV.  But know this,......

(My targets and contributon are included)..... ::)

Good shootin' DRTV!!!!!!!
