Title: Stock is out of Sync
Post by: alfsauve on February 05, 2014, 07:17:11 AM
Stock as in what the retailers have in stock.

Bullets are in stock, (check X-Treme and Berry's among others), I just took delivery of 260# so I'm set there.  And you can find primers, though not many retailers have them, MidSouth seems to have CCI and Cabela's has Federal, so I've order a few.

But powder?  I've only found a small local store in Houston, Lohman's Arms, that has Power Pistol.  And of course it's little more costly than a year ago.    Most of the normal on-line retailers are out of practically everything.  Most of them even have a "filter"  (in stock only) to help you shorten your search.  Using that filter Sinclair Int has only 18 sku's out of all the powders.  To give you and idea of scope, Alliant has over 60 sku's alone, all out of stock.

Try Graf and Sons.  I don't know if they'll have what you want, but they do have powder in stock.

Sorry it's taken awhile to get back on.  Work has had me hopping lately.

Graf and Sons only has one Alliant powder in stock, Reloader 50.

I couldn't find anything, so I figured I would just put it off and try again in the spring

Try one of my favorites, www.wideners.com (http://www.wideners.com)
Page 5 of 7 has two powders and page 7 has one Alliant powder.  There are some others sprinkled about including Vitivhourhardi, err, Vitvam, errr, Vit...aw heck, you know what I mean.

It has been my best place for 50 BMG military powder.

I have never bought powder/primers/bullets on line.  I used to be able to buy it either at Bi-Mart or at my shooting club.  I've had to buy powder from a buddy that had some he didn't need, 231, but other than that I've just quit shooting.  I finally have my HK91 ready to sight in and I am going to have do some scrounging to get some powder to reload 308.  I know a guy that is part of the problem, 120,000 primers+ and still buying/selling and while it bugs me he's just following supply and demand.  It'll level out eventually, either demand will slack off or supply will increase.
