If they replace Hannity for him, I'm all for it. Hannity is a sock puppet and a bully. Dobbs seems to think for himself and be man enough to apologize when he's wrong. I've been a fan for a long time. I'm sorry I missed tonight's show. I do hope he shows up on FOX, it will make me watch.

Like John Stossel and Glenn Beck, they left a flagrant loser in the ratings network to follow the money. With Dobbs, it's probably a little of both.

A network that doesn't agree with his point of view, and a man who's house was shot at, for being a fly in the ointment at CNN.

I saw his Pro 2nd Amend. views several times.

Best of luck to him, CNN's ratings suck.

Yes Hannity is a card carrying member of the Reagan Conservative mindset, so many can't stand it, similar to Beck, whose more independent, why be PC and a sheeple member of the "Chris Matthews MSM", when somehow not being PC, gets you massive ratings.

Hmmm,...

Its not the ideology, its the aproach. I don't mind someone with a POV, I just don't want to be yelled at or have guests brought in as punching bags. I also like the fact that Dobbs is as likely to open fire on corporations as on anti-2A folks. I want indepence in a commentator. I like Lou.

I know there has been talk of him leaving, but I was surprised tonight when he announced it on his show.

I like Lou too except for a while he was going a little overboard with his rantings. He seems to have come back to Earth.

Your right, the Pelosi middle of the night sneaky bitch approach in a 1200 page cluster**** is much more sensitive.

If the guests agree to go on Hannity, it's a MTFU thing, they bought their tickets, they know what their getting. Back it up, or retreat to Larry King.

No, its just the difference between a debate and an argument. In a debate, both sides make their case and cross examine the other. In an argument folks shout at each other. Watching a debate you might learn something from both sides, watching an arguement you learn who can yell the loudest. All heat, no light.

I have noticed you can't have a reasonable debate with a bowling ball mentality.

The "Messiah" mindset is deeply engraved and spliced into the DNA of the far left, just as the far right have their own problems.

But the fallback position of the far left is to reduce itself to personal attacks and of course, it's Bush's fault.

Who has more PC'ism? The far-left, or the far-right?

Would make sense, he's been doing financial reports for years.

AP story in today's local paper portrayed it as him being forced out by Hispanic groups for his views on illegal immagration.
I hope he not only moves over to Fox, but gets a healthy raise for doing it.

NEW YORK (AP) — CNN’s Lou Dobbs, a lightning
rod for criticism following his transition from
a business journalist to an opinionated anchor on
such issues as illegal immigration, has told viewers
that he was quitting his nightly show to pursue new
opportunities.
“This will be my last broadcast,” Dobbs said on
the air Wednesday after giving the day’s headlines.
Dobbs, who hosts a daily radio show unrelated to
CNN, said the network had allowed him to be
released early from his contract.
Dobbs was a CNN original, signing on when the
cable network started in 1980. For much of that
time, he hosted a nightly business broadcast that
became one of the most infl uential shows in the corporate
world, and CNN’s most profi table show for
advertising revenue.
But Dobbs said his world view changed after the
2001 terrorist attacks and corporate corruption
scandals, and he began to more freely express his
opinions. He was particularly persistent in bringing
the immigration issue to the fore, winning him both
higher ratings and enemies. Latino groups had anactive petition drive seeking his removal.
His presence became awkward for CNN, particularly
as it began emphasizing reporting and
non-opinion shows. He angered management this
summer by pressing questions about President
Barack Obama’s birth site after CNN reporters
determined there was no issue.
Dobbs said the decision came after many months
of discussion with CNN U.S. President Jon Klein.
Dobbs said he wanted to concentrate on his role as a
commentator and on advocacy journalism.
Klein hailed Dobbs’ “appetite for big ideas, the
megawatt smile and larger than life presence he
brought to our newsroom.”
“With characteristic forthrightness, Lou has now
decided to carry the banner of advocacy journalism
elsewhere,” Klein said. “We respect his decision.”
Dobbs said he was proud of his role in helping to
build the fi rst cable news network. He said some
leaders in media, politics and business “have been
urging me to go beyond my role here at CNN and to
engage in constructive problem-solving.”

And just for spite, he should sue CNN for discrimination. So what if it doesn't go anywhere. It would put CNN further in the whole fighting it. Last I checked you can't fire someone just because you disagree with their political views. But maybe it's different at CNN.

I had heard rumors that Dobbs was in talks with Fox Business Channel.

At the time Mr. Dobbs was viewed as a potential hire for the Fox Business Network. But a Fox spokesperson said Wednesday, “We have not had any discussions with Lou Dobbs for Fox News or Fox Business.”

At the same time you must consider the source. MSDNC isn't exactly what I would call reliable.   Bill T.
