Title: HK VP9
Post by: Rastus on May 16, 2017, 09:54:03 AM
Picked up an HK VP9 Tactical version a couple of months ago.  Finally got to shoot a couple of mags through it.  This thing may be my new favorite full sized Tupperware.

Haven't tried the VP9.   Should be on my list of guns to at least rent at the range and try.

Yeah...you need to try it.  Has a good trigger right out of the box.

Just when it looked like I was going to officially retire my full sized M&P for the HK VP9....well, I retired the M&P for the VP9.

And then I picked up a long slide M&P 2.0 a couple of days ago.  What am I to do?

$100 less and waiting to be run.  Hmmm.  Looks like I have a conundrum I need to settle on the range this weekend.  The long slide will be a liability on the draw....but man it still feels good and now has a really low axis on the barrel.

Problems, Problems. The only thing to do is get both of them.

And a Remington RP9 to go with them. The list price is $110 cheaper than the base model M&P M2.0. And it has an 18 round magazine capacity just in case you need one more round.

Did that.  Gotta try it  out.  I am liking the long slide.  Maybe I need to visit that RP9 just because.

It's going to be interesting if they perform better than my much maligned SR9 with the Ghost trigger connector.  After that $20 part was installed it was a different gun.

I was ten months old when that game happened.  8)

The Gators have offered up their own fair share of whoopin's to the Bulldogs. Steve Spurier coached so good teams when he was there.
It's one heck of a rivalry, indeed.

Oh heck.  You guys were talking about football?  You gotta remember I'm from Louisiana....Gaston the Green Nosed Alligator is one of Santa's boys.

And...oh yeah, we eat 'em down there too.

It sounded like they were talking in some kind of code until PegLeg posted the picture above.  ;)

A healthy dose of thread drift (hey, it's what we do well).  ;D
That transition from Gaston (I presume Les meant Glock) to Gators was smooth as silk.  8)

Then Les mentioned "Gator Nation" and although I'm not a die-hard college football fanatic, I reckon it IS an SEC thing to taunt over the GA/FL rivalry.   ;D

Gator tail IS good fried, though.... 'specially coated in a mix of Zatarain's, cornmeal, and flour.

I have no experience with HK pistols of any variety, so I now return you to your regularly scheduled posts.

As I remember, which I don't do all that well at this point, outside of Gainesville, FL is a little town called Cross Creek, which is connected with Marjorie Rawlings and her book, "The Yearling".  A restaurant in this little slow spot in the road is called, "The Yearling". And one of their dishes is, "The Cross Creek Special".   Frog Legs, Turtle, Catfish and Gator Tail.   Yum. Yum.
