Thanks, everyone, I very much appreciate the kind wishes.
Had a great day - my Marine son has finished his Masters in education and got his first real job ever teaching HS math. On my birthday, though, he moved out of our house to his first apartment ever, so my new bride and I are empty nesters for the first time in 16 months!
Key lime pie for breakfast, and a great steak at Tony's in Lexington for dinner, plus I'm getting a stealth antenna for the HF radio rig to dodge the HOA (hopefully), not to mention I keep waking up on the right side of dirt, so, yeah, it was great day!!

What kind of stealth antenna. You know I had to ask.

Chameleon Modular Portable Antenna System (MPAS) with the Mil Extension, giving me a 17' vertical that will hide in my trees nicely. I'd like a dipole, but the size of the lot and that whole HOA thang makes that difficult to do.
I do have a Pacific Antenna dipole that I'm thinking of hanging in a V from a couple of crappie fishing rods as a cover too, but this summer has been hectic, busy and rather eventful, keeping me away from Ham and gun stuff both.

I understand the hectic. If I get a chance I may give you a call today. I've got a 20M vertical loop to put up and after that I'm building a 40M or 80M vertical look if it works right...or maybe an inverted L.
We should be able to jabberjaw on 40M from dusk to 9PM or so with no problem.

PM sent to make certain you have the new number.
