Then they add a google map with people's homes flagged that have guns:

The link takes ya to a pay site. >:(

Why should this be public information? If we allow this it should be extended to hunting license, fishing license, drivers license, automobile license, etc. Maybe we should print the voter registration roles, and jury lists.
Be careful what you wish for and accept!
-
Or better yet, list and map the homes of medical Pot users , or supporters of other liberal PC causes..
-
My name was published shortly after the Ohio CCW went into affect. No law against it....basically "Public Record".

Hi;
Another way to look at this is that burglars will probably break into your unarmed neighbors house and bypass you ! A least path of resistance.
-
Better if the names and address of all the politicians and state, county and city officials was published. Never can tell when you mau want to invite them to a necktie party in their honer.

We went through similar idiocy here in Florida some years back when an Orlando newspaper said they were going to publish a CCW list. Legislators met quickly in an attempt to make that impossible, but when it got to court I believe the "before the fact" aspect of this was considered prior censorship and dismissed. Nonetheless, the paper did not publish the list due to the public outcry. In the meantime, I believe the CCW list was taken outside the circle of public records by legislation. I do know that we haven't had any CCW listing published even by Pravda West (aka Tampa Bay Times, formerly St. Petersburg Times). Now, we are over 1,000,000 carry permits and I don't think any paper would want to wast that much space and ink just to piss-of a majority of their readers.

Just another case of
intimidation by progressive activists diligent journalists keeping the public informed.

Good Idea. Then if you need to pile their belongs in the street, dismantle the house and stack it on top and then put their car way at the top and set it on fire, you know where to find them ;D ;D ;D
-
Solus, If you do it that way it's just vandalism, not arson.
You didn't burn down his house, you burned the parts it used to be made of. ;D
-
Some counties in Colo. publish the names of CCW holders, the county sheriff is the one who decides to go public with names or not - my sheriff doesn't.

This was mentioned on the news this morning as an unintended consequence, burglers now know the gun free houses!
-
If I lived there I would give a copy to every scumbag I encountered .
With the advice that if they went to the others they would not get shot be less likely to get shot.
Let's face it, not everybody follows the law. ;D

Some folks fight back to see how 'they' like it:

Hi;
All of this anti gun ban talk and posting of gun owners locations is going to backfire in the faces of the liberal anti-gun people. Crimminals know that the worst words that they want to hear is " Go ahead, make my day " ! Hummmmm , record gun sales to honest, law abiding citizens...8,000 new memberships to the NRA.....
Let us see what Joe Biden and Nancy Poliese have to say when confronted about that.....Hey Chuck Schumer ( asshole), How many of your people got guns now ? . Tell them they don't matter since they will vote for you again.
-
I wonder?
I wonder if the newspaper edited the list to exclude, themselves, favorite politicians or other celebrities?
I willing to be they did.

My favorte quote from the above article:
“I don’t know whether the Journal’s publisher Janet Hasson is a permit holder herself, but here’s how to find her to ask,” read Christopher Fountain’s blog post.

I heard about this on the radio today. Apparently an attorney post the names and addresses of all anti-gun newspaper editorials including the names of the authors. The implication was these are the homes first on the burglar's list. Turn-about is fair play.
-
Turn about is fair play! I hope scum bags target the journalists homes - good chance they are gun free zones. Heard on the radio today this guy in CO. wants to post all the dope smokers address' since it will be legal to poses less than an oz. in CO. as of 1/1/13.

If Colo is anything like the rest of the country that would be half the names in the phone book.
And not always the ones you would think. ;D

Took a long time to find this coming out:

“That was the most asinine article I’ve ever seen,” said Walter T. Shaw, 65, a former burglar and jewel thief who the FBI blames for more than 3,000 break-ins that netted some $70 million in the 1960s and 1970s. “Having a list of who has a gun is like gold - why rob that house when you can hit the one next door, where there are no guns?

Here is another "unintended consequence"
Inmates using newspaper's gun owner map to threaten guards, sheriff says
They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live.

Glad to see the ny paper that published the "map" is getting it thrown back at them & it came back to bite them in the a_ _ . I'm sure that Gannet isn't happy especially since they have posted "ARMED" guards :o at entries. What a bunch of bafoons.
