Alright, who's the ballistics, physics, science
geek, uh,... expert on how this occurs...

Or, are these guys just kinda stupid, with nothing else to do???

look very closly at the bullet...
Or to be more clear, look at what you don't see.
-
This looks real, if kind of dumb on their part. Bullets leaving a rifled barrel are basically gyroscopes. Bullets tend to corkscrew around the line of the bore sight between where you aimed your firearm and the target. this is because of "lift". "Lift" when applied to a bullet in flight refers to the tendency for it to move in the direction of its greatest mass - bullets are not perfectly balanced for weight distribution. Result is corkscrewing.
Now for the ice part. Bullet ricochets off the ice, which is hard enough to cause this, but not hard enough to seriously flatten a FMJ - ice will shatter. Bullet then lands, acting like both a gyroscope and an ice skate - creates a thin layer of water between it and the ice like an ice skate, spins like a gyroscope. Note the wobble - weight distribution within the bullet, maybe some slight deformation thrown in from the initial hit.

TAB, if memory serves me correctly Glocks have polygonal rifling, so there wouldn't be any lands & grooves cut into the bullets...( if that was what you were inferring)
-
What I didn't see was them going through the ice they have been shooting holes in all afternoon.
Disappointing ;D
-
What I did see was MAJOR STUPIDITY!
They knew these things were out of control, and they had no idea where they were going to.
Maybe we could all just pray that a couple would bounce into the crotches, and we wouldn't have to worry about them breeding.

The larger question is this:
Does living somewhere that cold make you stupid, or do you just have to be stupid to live somewhere that cold to begin with? Hosers! ;D
FQ13 who will offer a topic. Ice fishing, discuss amongst yourselves. ;D

If God meant us to live in that sort of a climate, we would have been born covered in fur. Sheesh.
Offered as an observation by Crusader, who firmly believes that anything under 70-degrees F is not suitable to sustain human life.

Stupid Canadians, eh.
My favorite part was. "I don't really care if I get hit. It's no big deal." I know it's a 9mm... But!

Hey, hey! Having lived in MI 15 years I can tell you ice fishing is actually a LOT of fun! So long as you've got a shanty and a heater in it. ;) You can look down in the hole and see all the way to the bottom of the lake no matter how deep it is (the sun shines through the ice enough to make it brighter in the water than it is in any well sealed shanty). Jigging for perch actually reminded me a lot of playing the carnival game we all played as little kids where you had a magnet on the end of you rod and pulled up a duck with a prize marker on it. ;D ;D ;D That along with the beer, camp food made on a little single burner stove, and all the BS stories you could stand to hear... It's GREAT!
Then some canadian dink accidentally shoots you with his 9mil! ::)

Have you ever seen the inside of a "Bobhouse", especially some of the newer ones.
Makes the corner look shabby . ;D

Hell, they make my house look shabby. Nothing "shanty" about them.

What did Foxworthy say about this? "You sit in a box in the middle of a frozen lake, build a fire on the ice, and you call Southerners stupid?"

With a bullet spinning at nearly a half a million RPM's...it's feasable that this could happen...Ice having little friction and resistence...but I agree with statement that while you wouldn't see cut rifling engraved into the bullet since this was fired from a glock...you would still see how the polygonal rifling upset the shape of the bullet.
May be time to call out the Mythbusters to test this one out.

Did anybody else notice that the shots were not very loud, but you could hear the last bullet spinning. What kind of loads do you not need ear protection for?
