Many of the Ravens and Jaguar players knelt for our national anthem but stood for the Brit's national anthem. Disrespect of
their our nation on foreign soil. For the ones who knelt, I hope they don't come back....let them fully enjoy the socialist paradise of Europe.
If the NFL, their players, major sports networks and ESPN feel the need to politicize the sports field then off they go. I don't need them.
Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
In fact, no one needs them for anything except to be entertained. It's not like they produce food, water, electricity or provided housing and medical care for us....things we really need.
What have I lost? Not a thing.
Good Riddance! ! ! ! ! !
Note: Your satellite or cable receiver tracks your viewing and reports back. Turn on something else today or better yet....turn it off!

Sadly, there is a large percentage of our populace that think these jerkoffs matter!
I've never been one of them...
I watch one or two Lions games yearly, sometimes. I don't receive ESPN or any sports channels anymore and don't miss them.

It's the other half of the plan..alongside Welfare
“Two things only the people anxiously desire — bread and circuses.” The government kept the Roman populace happy by distributing free food and staging huge spectacles.

I was done with the NFL years ago.....bunch of overpaid whiners.
I put much of this idiocy on the backs of the team owners. These players are "hired hands" (over paid to be sure) and under contract as employees of the organization. If the owners had spines, they cold put a stop to this childish lunacy, as in: You don't show respect to the Anthem (also painting a negative image to the team organization), then how 'bout a $50k fine per instance. Now let us see if you're doing this for show or for earnest reasons.
I remember years ago when I went on salary with company I worked for (a division of ALCOA) and as a condition of my employment there was a clause that stated I could be fired for doing any act deemed to paint the company in a negative light in the community.
-
A division of ALCOA?
-
For my own peace of mind, I don't watch garbage.
That's what ESPN has become.
And watching a bunch of whiny millionaires disrespect the flag I fought for is simply out of the question.

A division of ALCOA?
Yep. Soft Alloy Extrusions. There were several plants in our business unit. Our two particular plants, Tifton Aluminum Co in Tifton, GA and Delhi, LA ran a lot of raw sections for Pella Windows in Iowa. We also ran parts for Black & Decker and Stanley. We did have one gubmint contract for a while and ran the tips for the M430 40mm grenade.
A few years after I left the company, Alcoa sold off all their soft alloy units and primarily stuck with hard alloys like in the aircraft production arena.
Earlier this year, Alcoa split into two separate global business units, one remaining under the Alcoa banner and the other called Arconic.

I also no longer watch the NFL. I can't understand why ANY of the owners are allowing this to happen let along supporting it. That makes NO SENSE to me at all. Are they somehow going to be relying on people that don't buy and can't afford tickets to support the teams? Are they going to rely on income from TV deals to pay their players and bills? Their ticket sales has to go down. They have alienated most of the people that can afford their outrageous tickets. (Except for the small group of elite left-leaning celebrities and politicians)
Like Micheal Bane says all the time, "Tic-toc-tic-toc". The time is coming!

Not to say that the NFL should not be boycotted, but here is the kind of courage that comes from one who does stand for the National Anthem .
Football fans across America were clamoring for the jersey of Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva on Monday, a day after the former Army Ranger broke team orders by being the only player to come out of the locker room for the national anthem.

Ask me if the stood or kneeled last night. Go ahead, ask me.
(Note I am being sarcastic here so expect a smart assed response.)

I never pull the vet card, but as someone that has defended this country with thier life... the nfl can go f..k themselves.
I have seen and done things in the name of this country that I will never forget, disrespecting the flag/national anthem is disrespecting what I did and those like me. There are 2 types of vets, those with shiny boots and those that are not.
If I knew that all of the money from a jeraey sale went too thr player, I qould buy several of the brave ranger that stood up for tgis country.

He does get money from shirt sales, and he's donating all of it to Veterans' organizations.

And I still don't watch NFL games or ESPN. I chastise anyone I meet who is watching NFL games or ESPN.
So a person doesn't get to watch some "special" game....how brave of them to strive to not watch anything but their "special" game. Disgusting.

I was glad NHRA drag racing switched to Fox Sports last year, getting away from their long run on ESPN. I've hated ESPN for years, and only watched some the racing coverage.
The NFL can kiss where the sun don't shine.

How long you been back in Afghanistan so far, and how much longer? Will keep you in prayers, specifically, along with the generic for all who serve.

Send us an address. We might be able to dredge up a gift basket or something. Something with ham or bacon or other pork, of course....

As of next season 15 yard penitaly, turns out it was hurting their bottom line. What a shock.
-
Gee...how could they see that one coming.... :o
-
Too little...too late.
Making a move this far after the fact shows a band-aid mentality and removes all genuineness and sincerity in my humble opinion.

Too little...too late.
It does stink of, "let's see how this flies and then adjust our policy."

Several years ago the Minnesota Vikings hired a head coach named Les Steckel. Les followed Bud Grant, and brought with him the same work ethic and professionalism that many of the great coaches carried. However, he lasted less than a season, and the team brought Bud back for a short period.
Bud Grant, upon his return to retirement, stated that the players had changed, and that he could not coach in the current atmosphere.
Bud would start each season and each practice with "the basics." He also included the National Anthem in practice every week: Standing at straight and erect, along the sideline (can't remember if it was heels or toes on the line), heels together with toes angled out, helmet under one arm (I can't recall hand on hear or not), and looking up at the flag. No talking, no swaying, no gum chewing, etc.
Team sports are just like the military: There are no individuals, and everything everybody does is for the good of the team.

If you work for me and represent my brand (whatever that might be at the time) I certainly have a right to expect you to not bring dishonor to the brand.
This includes what you do, say and post on social media as well as how you look and act when representing the brand. And the more "public" the brand, especially in entertainment (sports), then the more you're "on." You're representing that brand 24/7.
It's not just about putting the go-zin-ta into the right widget, or blocking a blitzer, or catching a hail Mary, or getting the load to its destination on time. It's about representing the brand. You're the 3rd assistant pencil pusher in an administrative office and nobody outside your cubicle knows who you work for, then feel free to act stupid outside of work. But if you're part of the face of the brand, then suck it up or find another job.

Man, I’m the undereducated, third turd assistant to the assistant turd to the Johnson and Wales engineer with part time supervision!
I’m golden!

And I'm still not watching any NFL games.... ;D
I don't miss them one bit either. 8)

I have noticed that the local NBC station - in a town without an NFL team BTW, is showing highlights of NFL games - shown not surprising on NBC. In the 5+ years I've been here, this LOCAL station has only rarely shown highlights, now it seems they show them after every weekend. Trying to drum up business much, NBC??
