Title: Ugly Weekend A Commin
Post by: MikeBjerum on August 19, 2014, 08:16:53 PM
Mother-In-Law turns 90 on the 26th.  Pretty good considering that on September 11, 2001, she had a tumor the size of an orange removed from her brain.  Father-In-Law has been gone just over six years now, so she is alone in an assisted living place.  Great place with great staff, but still not where I want to end my life.

What does this have to do with my life?

The invasion of the left wing of the family is descending on us.  Brother-In-Law is going to stay with us for two nights.  To keep peace in the family I am playing the "Hide all Firearms and Stuff" game tonight in preparation.

Of course, this also means that since I have gone to all the work to Bloomberg proof the house in terms of hardware, the reading material will not be moved:  American Rifleman, FrontSight, ConcealedCarry, Personal & Home Defense, and Personal Defense are all in their normal places; Blue Press and a few other catalogs are next to each throne; and assorted other books are on the reading tables.  I even have the standard DVD selection out, where they always are, including Rob Pincus' Counter Ambush course that I have started four times and intend to finish one of these days.

Will be interesting to see how it goes this year.  Two visits back he chose to chew me out over guns and stuff.  After the shock wore off I got pissed, because I finally remembered that THIS  IS  MY  HOUSE, NOT YOURS!  Last visit was quiet, but I could tell he was avoiding certain discussions and would not enter the family room - Where my office, gun room, and my stuff is.

Well, delicate flowers are easily bruised and far left authoritarians are just outraged that you do not simply bow to their superior morality and knowledge.

"" what Haz said.

Statis/elitists  doesn't like to be reminded that at the first sign of trouble, they would call someone with a gun and pray they would arrive in time.

I have a sister-in-law that thinks the same way. I don't bring any of it up, but if she does I ride it like an over-priced rented mule. I beat it, I don't feed it, I don't give it any water, and when it's tired I drag it up onto it's feet and throw on some more baggage.

I don't have to put up with her in my house as much any more.

Leave the guns where they belong.
If the liberal doesn't like it he can go to a motel.

Well Mike good luck with all of that.  My in-laws are gun people and we struggle about other things so I still feel your pain.  However did you say, he chewed you out 2 years ago about guns?

I have a cousin who used to really blow up about "assault weapons" and the "gun show loophole" and other masturbatory concepts the anti-gunners have.  Except for me, the entire family Mollycoddles his liberal behind and I get blasted for not falling in line with them....however he respects me over the others in the family.

He is also beginning to change his views....which coincides with a discussion between he and my son and I where he became enlightened that talking stupid $hit in our face without listening to the truth that exposes the liberal lies he feeds upon would get his ass whipped.  There is only so much of the bull$hit high ground baseless liberal talk where they will "Defend your right to _________ (fill in the blank) to the death." which they use to justify their stance that I can take.  At some point I just feel like it needs to get real to them and, voila', it seems as though that BS talk of "Defending your right to ______ to the death." gets changed to "You have a point there" when confronted with far less consequences....like taking a minor ass whipping.

Now I know we have to keep peace with the wives, but I'd leave the guns out brother unless there are small children coming with him.  When bro-in-law shows up let him rant.  I've seen you and I figure you can whip his ass.  Maybe you should tell him that with your arm around his shoulder.  There is only so much peace a guy can tolerate when it comes to in-laws despite consequences of living in the doghouse or on the couch.

It would seem your Brother-In-Law favors an unarmed populace.

Support his views by decorating the guest room with pictures of the slaughter of unarmed populace by their governments.

I'm scared !  Really, deep down, disturbed, SCARED.
TAB posted what I was actually thinking. !
But I think Rastus and Solus are really on the right track, Point out to BIL that with his opinion that gun owners are all homicidal nut cases means that he is not to bright to be pissing one off.

Only thing I would be concerned about with a dedicated liberal being around easy access firearms is that they might shoot the TV to demonstrate how stupid, reckless and violent prone gun owners are by leaving them out.

I'm surrounded by liberal nutbags but none exist in my wife's family, thank God!

Even our two local dems voted against the latest gun restrictions in the State House...  Both support the 2nd Amendment!

My BIL owns a few guns but he's forbidden to visit because he's an asshole!   ;D

In 1997, my soon to be Daughter-In-Law, visited the missus and I for the first time.  She began ranting about guns, politics and etc. ad naseaum.  I (calmly I might add) opened the front door, looked at her and said;  "Listen you psycho bitch, this is my house, if you don't like what you see here get the f..k out, and don't waste any time doing it.  Open your pie hole one more time, and I'll personally throw your fat lazy ass out myself."

Son and missus were appalled.  DIL respects me.  Won't come to visit though.

Well said, Bro!

I used to just demur when the lefties started blathering (especially at work) but NO MORE! If they start it I shove it down their throats. Bury them in facts then dig them out and start over until they are used, abused and thoroughly cowed.  In front of as many people as I can.

I am not totally lost to the liberals.  While I have chosen to do my part to keep the peace the literature remains out, and it is no different than any other day, and the pest control shotgun and rifle are loaded and handy.  These things do not change.

Also, my carry arms are still carried, and as a part of normal life they are seen from time to time.

As far as hiding, the guns are not hidden.  It is just one of those days when they all end up coming out of the cases and corners, and they take their designated places in the gunroom.  It was one of these visits when I realized one had gone missing.  Turns out I forgot the leathersmith had borrowed a couple for holsters they didn't have blue guns for.  All will get properly wiped down, oiled, and fondled over the coming week.

Uh Oh!!!  Gun Stories is on, and I need to fondle some Rugers  ;D

I saw a guy open carrying today. Only the second I can ever recall. I told my mom and she thinks it's dangerous for people to carry guns. I told her what I thought about it but couldn't change her mind. She used to hunt so I guess that's okay. Anyway she doesn't vote anymore and I figure that's good news.

I saw a guy open carrying today. I told my mom and she thinks it's dangerous for people to carry guns.

I used to get this from my Mom until EVERY time she said it I asked: "Are you afraid right now?"
"No, why?"
"Because I've had this on - G27 exposed by pulling up shirt - since I got here."

I like the route M58 has taken. Leave out the literature in case any conversation needs a kickstart ;D but keep the hardware away from untrained noobs.

That's the Bloomberg bite-the-dust bitch urine generating flash from my super big bad double clutch booty bang blaster name of O' Bubba Bob the 20MM hand cannon.

Actually that's a pic from Southeast West Bay near the mouth of the Mississippi River where I was testing a new gas well completion around 2001.

Maybe Mike needs to borrow my super big bad double clutch booty bang blaster name of O' Bubba Bob the 20MM hand cannon to see if it generates a urine puddle around his b-inlaw?  I must warn you though Mike, at times it generates not only a urine puddle but a mass defecation stack unmatched by any diaper failure you may have previously seen.

How many ammo magazine clips do you have for it?

Are they 30 caliber ammo magazine clips?

 ;)

I think they would be automatic magazine clips like the one in this photo...

Can anyone confirm?

About a quadzillion or so.  They are actually four 30 caliber mags welded together in the form of a clip for 20MM....they hold about a hundred rounds each.

"F" them with a stick! It's your house, not there's. I would INCREASE the gun and gun literature material. Do you have a Galco Model Miami Classic for your favorite pistol?.....Get one, and open carry around the house while wearing a dirty wife beater. That ought to shut the bastards up!

Instead of network prime time, I would put the DVD "Complete Glock" by Lenny Magill on at 7:00 PM. If they leave, what are you out?

I'm not a Glock fanboy by any measure but I LIKE that idea.  +1 for creative thinking Bill!

It's still me.
I just had the thought that if you kick his butt, or drive him off you need to find a new toy.
But if you torment him with gun shows, video's and the like you can have hours of fun.
Kind of like water boarding with out the mess.  ;D

Updates?

We need updates!!!

Saturday as usual to start with:

Went to my weekly Prayer meeting;
Arrived at first barn at 09:15 and started the chores;
Deviation from routine - After the first five barns I went in the house, showered, and had dinner with the group;
Literature is still out, and my new NRA jacket that I wore because of rain today is hanging in the entryway;
They are all watching a slide show about mother-in-law's life;
and I am heading back out to finish the last four barns.

I plan a short bike ride after work, and then the fun will start this evening.

I will keep you posted, and I will include the address to send bail money to  ;)

Weekend is long over, they are all gone - Liberal one on Sunday, and Liberals two and three on Monday, but we didn't need to interact after Sunday evening.

No explosions or family fights, no liberal speak, well almost none, and no anti-gun comments.  Mother-in-law had a great gathering, about 40 people came for coffee, cupcakes and ice cream at the assisted living, and she received over 80 birthday cards in the card shower.  She is happy, but paying the price physically for the excitement.

Been a busy week since, and now get ready for the next moments.  Time to go play in the barns for the rest of the day, and play a little funeral director for a neighbor.

Thanks for lightening the load connected to last weekend.  You guys are the best!

Mike
