I have to disagree a bit with you on why the AWB will be pushed early. I agree that for some it is religion - Schumer, Brady, et al. However, I think that Obama will push to get it passed to say he "did something" and to take people's mind off how horrible the economy and stock market will be doing after he gets into office.
His admin will push it as a major victory when it really is window-dressing and payback to the Brady Bunch.
