The RFB is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle in 7.62 mm NATO caliber. It accepts standard FAL type magazines. Barrels vary from 18” to 32”.
All controls are fully ambidextrous, the reciprocating operating handle can be switched to either side. The trigger mechanism has up to five individual adjustment . The safety disconnects the trigger and blocks the hammer action.
A MilSpec picatinny rail is attached rigidly to the barrel. No open sights are provided. A free floating, four sided picatinny forend or bipod can be attached directly to the barrel at the base of oscillation.
It will be out Dec 2008 and costs $1,880

Ejects brass out the front, above the barrel, just under the Picatiny rail.
Magazine changes are a little awkward.
A lot of hardware in the trigger, no wonder there are five adjustments.

They showed it at the SHOT Show last year. I thought it was already in production months ago.

I have a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 folding rifle. It is a .40 S&W and uses Glock 22 magazines. It is very accurate.
The only thing about this new rifle that would prevent me from buying one is the price.

Have they started production on thoose puppies? I have been waiting since I saw it in a summer magazine and posted about it on my blog (http://shootingsportsblog.com/bulletboy/kel-tec-rfb-308/). I have seen some you tube videos and such but haven't seen one in person.

Would you manufacture a large rollout of an expensive product when,in a matter of months, they "may" be banned? This model has been in development for several years with none being distributed, according to my inquiry to Kel-Tec last year when I was ready to order. Wouldn't you imagine design or durability problems with the early concept guns? At least they were responsible enough to not take the money, market the guns and fix the problems later. It may just be too late to save this one. The window is closing.

All I can think about is what the hell happens to your head if God forbid you ever had a KABOOM with that rifle.

Same as with any of the other successful Bullpup designs , (Steyr AUG, French Fusil, Enfield SA80 )

Looks like path of least resistance is out the front where the empties eject instead of out the side

Probably nothing. "The breech is separated from the shooters face by two layers of 1.6 mm steel, with gas expansion directed downwards." It may blow the magazine out of the well but I think your head would be okay. A bullpup muzzleloader I saw is another story. That's more like holding a pipe-bomb to your head.

RFB Rifle Accessories
The release of the RFB Carbine is being delayed 30 to 60 days. Expect the first shipment by February of 2009.
The delay is due to a re-tooling effort aimed at adjusting production in order to precede any future negative legislative actions that are likely imminent due to the incoming administration.
INTRODUCTION
