This is a most hideous tragedy and I weep for the families that lost their children and loved ones. That being said, it disgusts me to see these gun control vultures foaming at the mouth over this tragedy and chomping at the bit to pass a new gun ban. An event like this will garner lots of misplaced support. I just hope our representatives don't desert us in the heat of the media propaganda.

This is what they have been waiting four years for!

Right after the inauguration Pelosi and Clinton were ready to charge ahead, but BHO said it isn't time yet (lame stream media claimed he said we aren't doing gun control).  Then he made it clear in the third debate, and nobody paid attention.  It never made the news!  BHO said straight out that he would bring back a stronger Clinton Ban.

Get ready, because this will not only be worse than the last one, but it will leave a crack open to go for elimination of these guns - confiscation and destruction.  Those that have lived this warned us, and even our own side called us paranoid.

The gun community needs to sharpen every tool in the shed, so to speak...... emails, letters through snail mail, phone calls.....all to any and every Representative and Senator in the Legislature......flood 'em lock, stock, and barrel.

I know I am preaching to the choir here, but I don't know who else to talk with right now. How does making it harder for me to defend myself and/or my family from one or multiple viscous attackers equate to keeping children safer in schools, malls or even in their homes?

I recognize the "do something" frenzy. But, by making millions of law-abiding gun owners more vulnerable, how are we inhibiting future madmen from carrying out their impulsive carnage?

I just don't get it!

My Senators and Congresscritters don't matter any more Peg...I stopped wasting my breath!  The governor is a piece of shite as well!  He'll probably be running against Hitlery in 2016 and we cannot comprehend the damage the asshat is capable of...  Born of a single, black, welfare mom and raised on affirmative action.  There isn't a pocket he won't pick, an immigrant he won't embrace or a budget he won't bury in debt!

I'm not disagreeing with the NEED.......just the timing.

Heck, Tom, I've been on here long enough for all to know my stance on matters related to .gov and the Republic....... but I'm afraid the time for armed insurrection may be long past, regardless of necessity. The herd of simple-minded sheep has grown beyond what the "3%-ers" could stand up for.

The time for a 'stand' should have been in 1934......or 1968.......or even as late as 1994. When William the Slick launched into the first AWB crap, we ( the NRA, gun culture, et al) should have had our own 'Million Man March' in DC.

Now, the time has come when anyone who actually does try to make a point will be swept under the rug by .gov, and written off in the media as a "gun-crazed right-wing loony" who had to be dealt with. Larger 'pocket resistance' will just be "crazy militia" and treated like Ruby Ridge and Waco.

If a large number of CCW holders gathered, not in DC but VA, protesting a new AWB and basic gun rights safely and armed it might get enough attention to at least give pause.  Non-res CCW is pretty easy in VA.

That article mentions the number of people killed each year with guns but fails to mention that 60% of those are suicides. Suicidal people will kill themselves with or without a gun just like killers are going to kill one way or another.
