i am at home, sitting on my couch...
I have more then that with in 10' of me...
-
Maybe it's that holster.
Everyone knows that someone who owns a holster is an over-the-top gun fanatic and terrorist.

I have three firearms on my person as I sit typing this.
(and could carry more without anyone knowing)

That's not an arsenal, it's a starter kit!

Excellent Brush!
And 8 rounds of ammo hardly even qualifies as being armed, does it?

that's 2 more then I normally have on me. I generally have just 6.
just like a buddy of mine asked me one time about me carrying my de with just 9 instead of 9+1.
my reply " do you want to be one of the 1st 9 thru the door?"
-
So let's look at it from another angle.
If the BATF busted into your house and put your guns and ammo on display, would you be embarrassed if they called it an arsenal?

In nycity you're only allowed to load 5 rounds into your magazine, knowing them they would add 3 more felonies for the extra rounds... ::) ::)
-
I don't think it is, but there are many that would disagree with that.

I'd question their use of the word arsenal, but I sure could use some help with inventory of firearms and ammunition. Wonder if they'd stay around to help oil before we put them away???
-
I think we may have gone around on the use of the word arsenal verses collection before. The dictionaries aren't much help as they simply say an arsenal is a collection of weapons or a place where weapons are stored.
My use of the word tends to reflect collections of the same weapon for purpose of distribution to a fighting force. I think of it more in the military or LEO use of the word. More of what you would find in a building called an arsenal. Hence, if you had 10 identical ARs that might be an arsenal. 10 varying ones would just be a collection.
But that's just my use of the word. I'm obviously in the minority.

Which is why you don't write for a bird cage liner from NYC. ;D
-
That's not an arsenal or a collection. A collection needs at least one gun per day of the week. Maybe one for each day of the month would be an arsenal. I have a small collection.

I'm pretty darn sure I have your definition of arsenal covered. Would have to dig up the list and count 'em but with handguns and long guns I'd bet on it.

So I am good for almost 15 weeks.

Way back when the English language was spoken properly as well as taught in school, people knew
that an "arsenal" was a place where weapons were manufactured, while those weapons were stored
in an "armory."
These days even dictionaries use the two words interchangeably.
Seeing as I have built several firearms from a collection of unfinished parts, versus slapping some
together from finished sub-assemblies as though they were LEGO blocks, I believe I can refer to the
Ham Radio Shack/Mad Scientist Laboratory as an arsenal. A few (!) weapons are stored here as well,
which makes this area an armory. There are also some small (!) quantities of ammunition stored
here as well, so we might also use the term "ammo dump."
Does that cover everything?

So they didn't manufacture weapons at Springfield Armory?

Springfield Armory was a one stop shop founded to handle everything for governmental arms use.

I know. I was just kidding.

This shows how desperate the media in this country has become when reporting anything firearms related. Also, ever notice how when it's black on black crime and killing, race is never mentioned? But if a white is involved at any level, they are sure to mention it in the first paragraph. And they wonder why trust in the media is at an all time low. 40 years ago all they would ever lie about was the weather.

And the kafir is ALWAYS the victim , even when he was pointing a gun at the cop on video.
So they didn't manufacture weapons at Springfield Armory?
Springfield Armory was the name of a federal arsenal, if that makes things clearer. ;D

As mud! Kind of like Fort Indiantown Gap is a camp.
-
In names if you notice if it is "Fort" such and such it is an Army facility, if it is NAMED "Camp" So and So then it is Marine Corps.
Thing that always amuses me is the number of Army facilities named after Confederates like A.P. Hill (who was a prick, Daniel Harvey Hill was the likable guy and also Stonewall Jackson's BiL ) or John Bell Hood, there is a Ft Lee in Va as well.
-
Camp can also refer to a reserve or National Guard post. Camp Perry comes to mind.
-
Having spent a few weekends at "Camp Edwards", on Cape Cod, I thought of that as I was just rereading my post.
-
By NY Post standards we must have about 50 million arsenals in the US. I'm glad to be one of those millions.

Since I was USAF and the code name for my property is Sans Souci, we'll call it Sans Souci Arsenal Base.
