Title: Harvey Styers
Post by: m25operator on July 19, 2009, 12:25:13 PM
Rest in Peace, Harvey Styers, long time shooting companion, fellow pistol club member, and Ex Marine. One of the 2 people who tried to point a gun at me while I was range officer, and I had to grab the slide to prevent him from achieving his goal. Accidental of course, he just had so much fun on the stage, he wanted to turn around and express it. He apologized profusely after the situation was settled down.

RIP Harvey, you will be missed.

Scary moment, but good friends come out of scary moments shared and learned from.  Sorry for the loss of your friend.

I accidentallyl came across your post regarding Harvey.  He would have been very touched by it.  He also would have flipped you off for referring to him as an "ex" vs. "former" Marine, lol.  I had posted the video of his memorial services at DFW National Cemetery at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZlJ9wdKnFc. Kind regards, Cheryl Styers

So sorry to hear about your friend Benny. We're all getting to the age where you start losing people to time and it's a "new thing" you have to learn how to do in life. But.... I'm really glad that his mistake didn't "succeed" way back then, because we'd have no M25Operator, and that would suck. May he rest in peace.
