Title: 80% Glock compatible lowers
Post by: Big Frank on May 12, 2017, 04:31:57 PM
I know some of you have 80% lowers for ARs but haven't heard anyone mention 80% lowers for Glocks. Anyone have any experience with them? Full size 80% lowers are on sale for $69.99. The regular price is $150. They also have smooth or textured 80% compact lowers for $150. Genuine Glock compact and full size Gen3 stripped frames are on sale for $75.

JumboFrank, something to consider with any 80% lower is the cost of the jig to do the job correctly. They say you can use a drill press and dremel to finish them,But a mill will give you the best outcome. If you go too far with the drill press or dremel you now have an expensive paperweight. I personally would stay away from the 80% handgun lowers, too small a work area and way too easy to make a mistake.Hope this helps.

Just did some quick math, unless you already have extra Glock parts to complete your 80% lower, you'd be looking at around $800.00 to build your own Glock, not really cost effective.

The only reason to build one that I can think of is to own an unregistered pistol.

Got this in an e-mail,80% lowers on sale with the jig, drill bits and endmill kit for $69.99 in black. Not a bad price if you can find the rest of the parts used.

Yesterday I figured out another reason to build one of these: just to prove to yourself that you can. There's no way I could make one without screwing it up. I don't have a mill or even a drill press.
