Title: Grip Differences
Post by: alfsauve on December 18, 2014, 07:46:12 AM
Just when you think you have seen all the different grip possibilities.

Sorry about the quality, but I had to scan this from "paper".

Amazing timing in the that split moment between the bullet exiting and the slide starting backwards.

BUT, look at the grip.  Specifically, does it look like a the left handed shooter is using his support hand trigger finger to fire the gun?    (picture isn't reversed btw.)

I wonder if the shooter is right handed but left eye dominate?

Maybe he needs two fingers to pull the trigger?  ???

Maybe  he is missing a finger.

Is that some kind of watch on his right wrist?  That might indicate that is his weak hand..but that is a strange looking watch.

That's the way it looks to me.

He is obviously shooting left handed; he appears to have a decent strong hand grip; but it is unclear what is happening with the weak hand.  His right hand is in poor placement for support, and the photo is too grainy for me to tell if he is using the right index finger on the trigger or it is just close (I can't quite make out if that is fingernail or just lines outside the trigger guard).

Regardless of what he is doing, he needs more training on his grip.

Edit (addition)
Kudos to dad for including him in an activity and taking him to the range for family time!

And Kudos to the Atlanta Journal, normally very liberal and pro-control, for including this in there digital extra edition.   No particular hint of whether this was good or bad, though I imagine they are hoping to elicit comments from their gun control supporters.

Unfortunately the picture was in their Digital Extra section which I can't seem to snag either a direct URL nor save the picture.

The also ran a picture of ladies with ARs with Santa at my home range.   Unfortunately, they make it hard to either save or link to these pictures.
