This has been making the internet rounds, just wanted to make sure anyone here sees it.
Directv has a "holiday promotion" also called a "loyalty promotion" that can save you money now and all through 2018.
Simply call and ask for it.

I got $5 off my movie channels for 6 months, $5 off the sports tier for 6 months, $11 off my NFL Sunday Ticket and $60 A MONTH OFF FOR ALL OF 2018!!
All in all, saves me over 700 bucks.
Others have reported also getting free movie channels for 6 months w/o the need to call and cancel them, they come off automatically.
