I love Texas.
-
It looks like a cool place, but the caption that goes with the first slide would keep me from moving there.
Known for its liberal leanings, Austin, Tex., is a funky college town where the sheer quantity and variety of music playing on any given night can be daunting. One spot that reliably delivers a good time is the Broken Spoke, an old-time honky-tonk dance hall.

It's a capitol city and a college town, the "keep Austin wierd" crowd is alive and well downtown and around THE University of Texas.
From the slide show, the Salt Lick is the real deal!

I spent my younger years growing up in the "Lone Star State". Heck most of my relatives live in and around Austin. Last time I checked Austin was know for it's music, it's food, and it's history. But I guess only a Texan would know that. I love the slides devoted to how you should go rent a bicycle, eat some exotic Mexican food, and spend $1000s on records and cowboy boots. Like people in New York would know a Cowboy boot if it was shoved up their a$$ by a 6' foot Longhorn linebacker with a Marlboro in his mouth drinking a shot of bourbon. The reason Texas has remained strong in bad times is because of the hard work of Texans. New York JA need to stay in New York. You screw up your state, fine, stay the hell out of my home town. Of course those from NY who participate on DR are cool, the exception to the rule.

A Texas liberal, makes a northeastern conservative look like a communist.
-
LMAO aint it the truth we import liberals from COMMIFORNIA just like everybody else.
-
The Hill Country is beautiful but the traffic in Austin drives me nutty.
Salf Lick in Driftwood is a nice stop.

Excuse me ? ::)

I'm currently setting in an Austin office building right now, and all the self proclaimed liberals around me want to overthrow the government and reinstate a constitutional republic. ;D They all tell me, 'I live my life as a liberal, but I don't want anybody telling me or you how to live.' I figure if the half dozen of us ever get a week off at the same time well take care of that.
When they call themselves 'liberal', I think they just want to do drugs and be able to party all the time. I don't have the heart to tell them that don't make them liberal, that's why they think they're cool.
You boys tell you commie friends to stay the hell out of my state. But ya'll are welcome to visit and take notes on why Texas is the best. ;D
