long story short I trade some work for a car for my wife.( 06 lincoln ls that has 8k miles on it, it is loaded)
Any ideas for creative ways to give it too her for xmas?
all I've come up with is wrapping the keys... not exactly creative. last year when I got her the tennis braclet I put it as a neckless on a teddy baer and put a big ribbon over it...
PS she has been driving my bronco back and forth to work for awhile after we limon lawed her toyota.( 4 runner, what a POS that thing was, it was towed more then it drove, electrictal probs, the tranny went out, the nav system never worked... etc, etc.)
-
Take her out to dinner. Afterward, have a valet return with her NEW car instead of the one you drove to the restaurant. It will take some logistics but it might work...

Your trading your wife for a Lincoln?
Seriously, Timothy may be on to something, valet dinner joint, upon exit, have it drive up with a big bow on it.?./?
Some type of destination, where you'll both be walking out, and she will see the car and just know....
You big softie you,..... :-*

Fly me out and I'll switch cars when she's not looking. I only rolled over two of my cars and it's been months since my last crash. :-[

you can take my fiat for a spin then, its worth more wrecked then it is toegther. bad part is you most likly won't survie.
the valet parking is a good idea, but that would send up red flags as I will never use valet parking.

is she having any time off work before chrissy
if she is working Christmas eve
organise to have a "delivery" at her work and have the car delivered to her work and have the keys in an envelope with a card ;)
also have on the passenger seat some flowers for her

Send the car she's driving in for a "transmission repair" or something and bring back the Lincoln as a loaner car.

I like Tomothy's idea but you don't have to use a velet. Take her to her favorite eatery and have a buddy do the car swap.I think it is important that you are with her for the surprise. I like to see someones face when I surprise them. Don't tell the buddy until the day of or before and you don't have to tell him or her the whole story. You just need someone's help for a few minutes. DON'T TELL ANYBODY ELSE. Loose lips sink ships.

Have a friend wait in the new car at the restaurant and drive it up as you walk out. Timing would need to be worked out but might work.
Richard
PS: She's a lucky girl!

Have a couple, that you are friends with, drive the car to your home Christmas day. Have them play it up like it was your buddies gift to his girlfriend/wife until she turns the perfect shade of envious green. You can wring out a little extra grief by having your friend let her "test drive" the car, among other things, before letting her in on the surprise. May not be the most romantic approach, but it would definitely be unforgettable, as well as a lot of fun for you.

We have a plan now.
on the 23rd we are going to dinner at a friends house( we are not related, but she is my sister). We are going to park the car on the back paito. thier back yard is pitch black with the outside lights out. We are then going to use the remote start feature to start it up and turn on the lights.

Sounds like a winner!

I hope you are not planning on watching "Christine" before this little stunt. ;D
PS, Make DARNED sure it's in PARK ;D

Not to be a buzzkill, but personally, I hate surprise parties and the like, where you have to plaster a smile on your face and pretend its wonderful, when you'd rather be any where else on the planet. My advice (from a single guy so caveat emptor) is just say "Sweetie, I know you need a new car and I got you this one. Hope you like it, love you yadda yadda yadda...". Just m .02.

It won't let you take the Key out unless its in park.
Still have to figure out when is the best time to "give it too her" there will be 10-15 people there.
FQ its not a surprize party... every one thought the teddy bear neckless idea for the tennis braclet last year was great, I mean everyone.
She knows that this year has by far been my worst year, since I've been in biz. ( I'm at abut 7% of last years gross sales) So she is not expecting anything this year. Let alone a car. Reality is I got very lucky that car dealer needed some emergency work after there was a fire in one of thier offices. We worked out a deal, they paid for every thing, and I got the car for my labor.

Christine was a '58 Plymouth Tom, no worries about a Caddy, they have no soul.......
Good idea TAB....
I rented a Caddy once on a golf juncket. When I got back I decided to take my wife for a spin with it, when we were driving, she asked what the white tees on the floor were used for.
I said, "They're for resting your balls on when you drive!".
She said, "My, those Cadillac people really think of everything don't they?"..... ;D ;D

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if there will be 10-15 people there I'd wait until I got home to "give it to her". ;D
