The BigE gunshow is this Sat. and Sun. and I will be there selling at Match Shot Firearms both on Sunday. Unfortunately Saturday has a prior commitment which will cut it out of my schedule but the Shop will have another excellent salesman to pickup my slack. ;) It is a decent show with all the good stuff at our tables. ;D

Give us a good report on Monday. (or Sunday night ;D )

If you don't mind, check out the prices of cases of 5.56 and 7.63x39. I'm curious as to what the current trends are and a large gun show is a good way to check.

They won't let me in when I'm carrying so I've been skipping this one for a couple of years. Hope you sell bunches of stuff Tex.
Where is your shop located? What town?

I am tired and aggravated so I will post quickly. I did not buy but the looked up the case price of 556/$269+tax and 762x39/$279+tax.
There was only one Dealer at the show selling ammo, and because that dealer could only sell the ammo outside. IT WAS COLD and WET and they were not in the mood.
The customers had no money and the ones that did didn't want to spend it. Even when you gave them the deal they wanted. "You will take$600!?!? Well let me think about it." That BS happened well over a dozen times.
Oh well, tex

Sounds very similar to the gun show, minus the cold, that I attended a couple of weeks ago. Personally, I know prices went up even at the dealer level, and they have to try to sell "x,y,z" to recoup those expenditures.
But it may be time for a "Black Friday" type of sale for the gun/ammo/accessory/ buyer. Offer the consumer a good price and they'll come back to buy more from you.
Competition, is great in the firearms market. Even if a dealer has to break even or sell at a loss now, the key is to SELL the stuff to get more stuff.
The .380 ammo situation is a good example. Prices are sky high when you can find it. Eventually, the consumer will taper off the demand due to price and availability, and get a .38 or 9mm,... Than the price will adjust to move the product.
Thanks for the "tired & aggravated" follow up.

Really a shitty day to drive to the show. Cold and wet and snowing at the same time, probably not a good formula for a banner turnout.
Parking usually blows for that show too.
Too bad Tex, better luck next time.
