Title: Favorite T-Shirt
Post by: Rastus on December 13, 2009, 07:22:57 AM
I'm up to 2XL and I've outgrown my favorite T-shirt from college.

Actually, I outgrew it quite some time ago since it was a large.  It's Christmas and I want to treat myself, should I plan on losing weight for a New Years resolution or buy a new one that fits?

Have any of you guys experienced similar trama?  Especially if any of you are too small for your old favorite T...I'd like to find out how.

Currently, my next most favorite is a 2XL USSA T-shirt...so I'm not in complete withdrawal.

My favorite is one I bought some years ago, and was already approaching 2x. It too is a college jock t-shirt, big, simple lettering, marked XXX etc.

It's for the Electoral College athletic department.

Think about it . . . .

I bought it after the 2000 election when Hitlery was running around claiming she was going to do away with the Electoral College after AlBore was denied his rightful place as president by that pesky Electoral College.

Buy the shirt.

I like 2x myself. (a 'little' floppy ;) )

I would bet ya Jaybet doesn't wear the same as he did in high school.  Just look at the age of some of us old farts. :)

Don't know why but for some reason I think of Bogan as a skinny dude.  (can't explain it, just the way it is.)

Buy the shirt.

Haz, I think you are exactly right....the alternative is too horrible to ponder.  Yep some of us are balloon boys and others are twigs...there is no justice in it...the twigs can usually eat mass quantities, not gain weight and don't really care about food whereas us balloon boys love to eat and a whiff of pie get's us another pound or two.

Geoff....you saying you wear 3X now or just that you like the shirts floppy?   ;D  :D  8)

T-shirts shrink over time, so naturally you have to keep replacing them with bigger and bigger shirts. I'm up to 2X... 3 if they are sitting right there because it feels good to wear a floppy T. Bad news is, I wear WAY bigger stuff than I did when I got married. The good news is, I'm built exactly like my old man was, so I have an excuse.  What's YOUR excuses?

TIme and the toxins slowly released by biscuits and gravy put me up to XXXL.

I have lost over 100 lbs and an XXL is loose on me.

"FIRE CONGRESS" will be my next T-shirt.   :D

If I remember correctly from the "whatcha look like" thread (which I can't find) Tom was compared to Harry Potter.

I don't think that was entirely accurate. Tom makes Harry look like Hulk Hogan.  ;D

Bogan weighs about 160, unless he's only 4ft tall, he's a skinny dude....... :D

Me, I'm tall enough to not show my bulk but I'm working on dropping about forty pounds.  In my own defense, it ain't easy to workout with all my medical maladies but I'm trying....

2XL-T for me and I do like 'em big....

There are a lot of custom t-shirt shops on the internet... you can get anything written on them and can upload any photo..... some Gadsden flag tees with our CCWs on them would make great tees:

I have a grammar question that relates to the very essence of this forum.  Brother Haz said in his comment, "...I are fat."   And, because Haz is my best friend and I spend a lot of time with him, I wouldn't dare to disagree.  He are fat!  But, when, or at what point does one's increasing girth allow one to use the plural of I and refer to oneself as "we?"  Has Haz reached the point where he could accurately say, "WE is fat."?  I mean, there is a lot of Haz.  And he has been frequently referred to as a group even when he is all by himself.   (I always thought that was just because of the voices.)  Or, alternatively, would another of us need to be near him for him to accurately say, "We is fat."?

I guess it really doesn't make a heckuva load of difference since many of us gentlemen of a certain age have begun purchasing larger sizes.

Personally, I think the clothing companies are guilty of putting the wrong labels on t-shirts.  There's no way I should need an XL to cover my diminutive frame.

I don't think I want to start on how much my body has changed since college or even since I was 50!  I'm working on it now.. but I'm not even close to looking like I "used to"..

it's a little known fact that as you age gravity increases it's effect on your body, you are really the same weight that you were back in High School. As far as clothing sizes go it's all a commie plot to make us feel bad about how fat we got to keep us from fighting the commie (or zombie) hoards... ;D ;D

When you bend over and everyone can see your "cleavage" You really don't need to reinforce the tragedy with an ugly gun.  ;D

Here's my latest favorite T-shirt, for OBVIOUS reasons. I know, I'm OBVIOUS. I can't make it any more OBVIOUS, but for some reason, OBVIOUSLY, I like this T shirt. XXL is my favorite size, as it allows for that time-tested shrinkage to occur without revealing my OBVIOUS curves and other less obvious attributes.

http://blueboneband.homestead.com/tshirt.html
OBVIOUSLY in the spirit of full disclosure I have some OBVIOUS interest in seeing these proliferate all over the free world and into third world nations where electricity is a reasonably common utility.

We have a lot of money invested in attaining this zoftig nature.  Let's see a little respect.

Or, as one large-sized comic used to say in his act, "I'm not fat.  I'm fluffy!"
