In this alternate reality, Newsweek plays what if and walks us through what Bush's presidency would have been like if Gore had won..... In this version, The young Jedi had clairvoyance enough to kill Bin Laden in an air strike in August 2001 and stop 9/11 from ever happening.
Yeah, that makes sense. I am sure that the operatives that were already inside the U.S. getting flight training would have just called the whole thing off and bowed at the feet of Man-Bear-Pig. I find my lack of faith disturbing.
>:(
An August 2001 Daily Intelligence Briefing warns, "Bin Ladin [sic] Determined to Strike in the U.S.," which prompts the president to authorize the strategic bombing of targets in the Khost province of Afghanistan, near the Pakistani border.
Frank Wall, White House counterterrorism adviser: "We had it on better-than-reasonable authority that Osama bin Laden, or at least his top guys, were hiding out under the protection of the Taliban who, if you remember, had just blown up the Bamiyan Buddhas that April, which was a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nasty guys. It didn't go over well. We were not greeted as liberators there, and here at home, the general consensus was that the president was trying to look manly. I still maintain it was the right thing to do. American interests haven't been attacked by Al Qaeda since the USS Cole in Yemen, but who can really judge if an endeavor is successful by something not happening?"

Al Gore stop 9/11. Yeah, right. :(
Did Oberman write the blog?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was policy enacted by Janet Reno, that prevented that sharing of information that would have probably intercepted the hijackers. Now I know I'm young, but wasn't Reno part of the Clinton/GORE administration? Furthermore, this being the case, how much do you think would have changed had Gore been elected? :-\

Clinton signed a Presidential finding to capture or Kill Bin Laden after the East Africa Embassy bombings, but on the 3 occasions the CIA had Predator imagery of him the White House wimped out.
Not to mention the simplicity of killing him in Sudan where CIA operatives were literally bumping into him every day.

I could swear that Gore was Clinton's VP and I know that after the first attack on the World Trade Center, Clinton enjoyed a nice sit on his thumbs.

Well not exactly wrong but it was Jamie Gorelick that wrote the policy.

Thanks for the catch! Although my main point remains unchanged. That Gore's policies probably wouldn't have differed from Clinton much, if at all. He would have put in more hardliners in the environmental positions, but... :-\. As far as domestic, and defense policies, we would have seen a further gutting of our military, and the continued lockout of our intelligence.

AlGore was too busy putting the finishing touches on the Internet he invented... No time for some tall, skinny terrorist. Slick Willy said he was too much of a "hot potato",...
Than he said: C'mon in here Monica, I see you've got the "blue" dress on today,.... :-*
Thanks for the Internet anyway AlGore....Nice Job ???

Why is anyone surprised at this fiction? Old news.
Consider: As soon as W was elected in 2000, Hollyweird went into overdrive in their shock and dismay, and immediately produced that vile POS called West Wing all through W's administration that the uber-lib leftists and faux libertarians so could pretend they actually did control the WH.
