I watch something like that, and I am caught in such an upwelling of emotion, that words cannot express. The pride that I feel that we as Americans have men and women of such courage, and compassion. Matched only by the anger, and pity that I feel for those who would, and are trying to destroy the very fabric that gave birth to those same men and women.

Col. North GETS IT!!!! Unlike my previous posts about the "brass". North simply gets it. He has been there, had Usama Bin Laden pegged for a major league terrorist long before anyone else had the testicular fortitude to mention him, had his family threatened by Al-Quaida, and only increased his voice to advocate for our troops in the field.

Wish more at the top, were as intense in winning this damn war, than pandering to a bunch of political B.S.

Great Video, I'll be passing it on as well.

Thank you.

North never mentioned Bin Laden, at the time BL was still fighting Soviets in Afghanistan.
The terrorist who threatened North was Abu Nidal who has since died.

You are correct, and I stand corrected. Thank you. Forgot the exact name, same kind of scumbag, different scumbag.

Nidal was a radical Palestinian responsible for the Christmas Massacre in Italy. My bad, enabled and funded by good ol Libya and Col.

Quadaffi (sp) was a real sh**head back than also....

Thanks Tom. My fingers get away from me... :-X

North is still a great advocate for our troops.

Speaking of Quadaffi.............if memory serves he SIGNIFICANTLY cooled his shit after Ronaldus Maximus sent a little F16 wake up call to his house early one morning.

You do have to admire the Liberace wardrobe and the platoon of AK toting female ninja body gaurs. Of course, he did have a pool built with a ramp so his camel could swim.....
FQ13 who is not making this up and does not want to go there

I believe they were F-111's Tom.  I also recall that the French would'nt let us fly through their airspace for the attack.....too bad we had no smart hardware at the time, he would not have survived the attack...

Pride.  These young men and women are the world's best.
Sorrow.  Our current leadership doesn't begin to understand that.

We have been using "smart weapons" since the late 60s.  The Paveway LGB and Walleye TV guided weapon were used in Vietnam starting in 67.  They used various directed weapons in Libya but he was warned to leave by the Italians.

I have trained more 18 year olds than I care to remember and I have had the pleasure to have served with some of the finest that have ever put on a uniform. This poem sits in my wallet.
