2/3 cup top-quality tomato juice (I always liked V8 juice)
2 to 3 ounces top-shelf vodka, depending on strength
1 teaspoon horseradish (I like it hot)
6 shakes tobasco sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Juice of 1/2 large lime
1/8 teaspoon sea salt (can substitute, try seasoned salt)
1/8 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
Celery stalk
Mix it seperate from the ice so you don't dilute the drink and pour over ice to serve...enjoy!!!

Now, where have I seen that recipe before?
I wonder?......... ;)

After I posted the Hazarita recipe I thought it was a public service ;D
I had them both in a PM I sent to Johnny Bravo. I was thinking about going through and posting all the "Cold weather recipes" but I'm not THAT bored. ;D

Looks pretty good, but I'd make a couple of caveats: 1, use fresh horse radish as the "heat" disipates rapidly over time. 2, We did a similar recipe using Beefamato (which I haven't seen for awhile) and it was tasty. 3, Finally, find a better hot sauce than Tobasco (personal opinion only) and 4, try a shake or two of garlic salt just to make yourself irresistable to the opposite sex.

I try to mix it up with V-8 instead of tomato juice.
Dash of Worchestershire Sauce
Lime juice
celery salt
(even had some with pickled Okra)
clam juice when feeling really salty,
white pepper instead of black
big fat stalk of celery.
dash of club soda, or more vodka for the proper viscosity.
and yes,.....Tabasco to taste.

That recipe is from my aging memory from back in the day and a good baseline for a Bloody Mary. Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome and encouraged because the B. Mary is a very personal coctail, one that lends itself to a plethura of variations. It will help a hangover, clear a sinus, give you some nourishment or just give you a great morning buzz........
It's always been a favorite of mine and the one and only way I would ever drink tomato juice....
Bon Apetite...... ;)

Lost the celery and put in a dill pickle spear.

Not bad, but take the extra time to let it sit overnight, and let the dried seasonings go free. Once you got it, make it a gallon at a time, without the Vodka. Worth the effort I think.

something else that makes a killer bloody marry, is to put about 25 or so peper corns in a bottle, let it set for a week or two then strain them out. One of the many things I learned in college and can still remember.
