Just days before the 2010 SHOT Show, Sig Sauer announced the new Sig P226 E2 and P229 E2 pistols.  The E2, or Enhanced Ergonomic, pistols feature a new “one-piece modular grip with improved texture” that reduces the size of the backstrap and makes the overall grip smaller, allowing better fit for shooters with smaller hands.

A lanyard loop is standard. E2 models feature the innovative Short Reset Trigger (SRT) system providing a 60% reduction in trigger reset. E2 models also include a reduced reach trigger, providing an even better fit for shooters with smaller hands. A redesigned decocking lever can be combined with an optional ergonomic slide catch lever for a reduced profile; ideal for high two-hand grip techniques.

To shooters with small hands, this may be a huge help.  The P226 is a rugged pistol with superb accuracy, but it is also very large.  For anyone with small to medium sized hands, this will allow a better fit of hand to gun.

The E2 Enhanced Ergonomics P226 & P229 are currently available in 9mm with Nitron finish and SIGLITE Night Sights. Both models ship in a hard carry case with three 15-round magazines and have an MSRP of $1,149.00. For more information, log on to www.sigsauer.com.

These pistols will be at the 2010 SHOT Show, and we will be there to bring you photos and video of these new guns.

Even if MSRP is $1100 +/- , that still puts them in the $800-$900 range.  :o

But it's a Sig....for that money,,,,no ambi capability?
