I went to the local gun club to check out there sass match today, and they loaded me a couple guns and let me try one. It was a blast. So now I need advice. I know pistols will be ruger. Shotgun will be a stoager coach gun because they are cheep and I am really broke. But what is a decent INEXPENSIVE starter rifle in 357/38????? I really want to do this but I took a major pay cut last year, and don't really have the money do drop 800-1000 bucks for a rifle.
any sugestions for a rifle?

Howdy Gixxer, for an inexpensive rifle look for a used Rossi 92 clone. They are a great starter rifle that can be picked up for less than $500. I wouldn't recommend the 94 Winchesters in pistol caliber because of problems with feeding. I used a Rossi that I slicked up for about 4 years before going to a Toggle link gun (Win 66 & 73 Clone). You can sometimes find a nice used Marlin for about the same price, But they have a problem that is known as the "Marlin Jam" not real hard to fix, but it can be frustrating in the middle of a match.

the Rossi will be your cheapest option. Usually right at $500. (Been wanting one myself lately) The Puma lever actions are usually about $100 more than the Rossi ones here, or were last time I saw one. All the other brands out there that I know of are $800 and up.

Stoeger is a great coach gun, there are some good ones from Century and IAC, as well.. Usually around $200-$350.00

Good call with the Rossi. Check local gun shops for other trades, even pawn shops can get a quick call to see what they have.

Sounds like a great time.
