According to the Site Adm at KTRange:
CorBon is listing a .32ACP 60gr DPX round in their promotional material at SHOT!
IMO, this is excellent news for anyone who carries a P-32 for self defense, though it could be mid year before it is available on the website and on dealer shelves.
I had a nice conversation with Chan (CB3 here on The Range) over at the Barnes booth. He works for Barnes now, and confirmed the existence of the 60gr XPB (X Pistol Bullet) that CorBon will be using. Barnes is a company renowned for its cutting edge hunting bullets, and Chan is there to help them develop more of the tactical side of the business. This is good news for anyone who carries for self-defense, and good for Kel-Tec owners as well.
In .380, DPX is one of the best (if not the best) expanding round you can get:

Cor-Bon makes a top shelf round. If I had a 32, I darn sure would be carrying the most "performance bang for the buck" round I could get for SD carry, especially for a "leetle round".... ;)
What's next +P .25's? :P

100% on Corbon DPX .380s...it's what's in my guns. I'll definitely get the .32, which might cause me to reconsider the Mauser HsC resting comfortably in my safe!

What about penetration? All the expansion in the world doesn't mean a thing unless the bullet gets deep enough to damage something important....esp. if bone is in the way..... ???

That is nice. Was wondering that myself.
DPX are loaded in both my LCPs

Most all of the .380 hollow point test results I have seen have penetration in the 10-13 inch range.... .32 is also 10-13 inches. So, I would expect the .32 DPX to probably get approx 10 inch of penetration and I would bet expansion would come in at .600

Found this on DPX rounds...it mentions the .380 which is close to .32, so we will call it On Topic

Many commented last time that they wondered what effect a heavy, leather jacket would have on pistol-bullet performance and penetration. So, this t ime we required each bullet to penetrate a leather jacket AND four layers of de nim before entering the gelatin. Each student subjected his own, carry ammunition to the test. Here is what we found:
The combination of leather and denim frustrated most conventional, hollow-points. Most traversed the gelatin with badly-compromised expansion . Some did not expand at all. Even Cor-Bon's vaunted PowerBall (45ACP, out of my Detonics) did not do well in this test. I was surprised, as few rounds wil l out-expand PowerBall, but the layers of clothing, combined with the Detonic s' short barrel, conspired to thwart performance.
The one round that expanded consistently and completely, despite the leathe r and denim barrier, in all calibers, was Cor-Bon's DPX! DPX, in 40S &W, 45ACP, 357SIG, 38Super, and 45AutoRim, were all unimpressed by the leather and denim. Even 380Auto DPX, out of my little Kel-Tec, was immune. It expande d symmetrically and completely, penetrating nine inches of gelatin, after penetrating the clothing.
I am more persuaded than ever that DPX provides superior performance in the widest spectrum of circumstances, consistently outperforming any other bullet of which I am aware.

Impressive, Solus.

Thanks Solus, another reason I am willing to pay for the "good" stuff for SD.

Thanks for the info and link, Solus.
You know I loves me some Cor-Bon. ;)

Its also important to note that those test were done through two layers of denim

I would like to see a test of Hornady's Critical Defense rounds.
They were too new to be included int he link I posted.
They have been compared to CorBon's PowrBall but only in looks.
All my TAP ammo is now in the practice can.

WOW!!!! DPX wins big again. A tiny bit less penetration, but still plenty and 48% greater expansion.
Time to buy stock in CorBon.

check brass fetcher, lots of stuff on there.

UPDATE: Its now available.

Corbon did some gel tests with P32 and posted them here:
http://www.stoppingpower.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18507
The 32 auto DPX load clocked at @ 950 fps, penetrated 9" ( I was surprised) and recovered diameter was .60".
These results were obtained using a 4 layer denim barrier in front of 6x6x16" blocks of 10% ballistic gelatin.

Amazing.
I was worried about how much Tom B. might be giving up going with a .32 rather than a .380...but he will be doing fine.

Yeah, its a little less energy, but IMO its not enough to make a difference. However, the .32 has a great deal less recoil then the .380 -- Its damn near close to shooting a hot .22 or .25 -- and rapid fire accuracy is greatly increased.

Cor Bon is the best in my opinion....check out these videos if you need some proof! DPX & PowR Ball are all I carry in all my handguns.
