Title: New Gatling Gun
Post by: r_w on January 30, 2010, 05:20:49 PM
Ran across this in a SHOT blog:  http://www.usarmamentcorp.com/index_gatling_gun.php

The part I find most interesting:

Quote
The gun transfers the same as a standard long gun.

It isn't a machine gun as technically YOU cycle it.  hmmmmm....

MB needs to T&E one for Cowboys and SG, though, so we can live vicariously.  ;D

It would be tons of fun to shoot....all while your bank account sang "I'll Fly Away"..........  ;D  ;D

I've always wanted to build a replica (non-firing) and set it up in my yard....

I want to leave it in the yard to scare the crap outta the neighbors.....and, if it can't fire, I won't be inclined to burn up my life-savings trying to feed it.

Man, I do like the way those Gatlings look.  Absolutely gorgeous.  At the gun club I belonged to in Wisconsin, we used to have a family fun day...one of the guys had a Gatling he brought out...I never knew it was worth $25-35K!  yOWZA

I kinda think of my new Browning 1919 as a single barrel gatling...once I get the Crakfire on it.  Now, unfortunately PegLeg has got me thinking of the $$/second it will run.  Lessee...at $0.20 a round (reloads), 400 rounds a minute...that's $1.33.  Well...not quite $25/sec but still...

Thank goodness I reload and have about 5000 rounds of components for .308

It's only reproductions that go for $35 - 45 Thousand. A gun store I used to go to had an ORIGINAL, on an artillery limber, dated 1903 in 30-40 Krag  $350,000

His wife is probably a B!tch, but that Gatling is COOL !    ;D
(And BOTH require expensive upkeep , but with the Gatling you get to keep control of the bathroom )

Some versions on the Ten Commandments do include:

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors good.

So, better double check to be sure you are in the clear =)

I want to leave it in the yard to scare the crap outta the neighbors for when I tell the neighbor kids to get the hell off my lawn.....and, if it can't fire, I won't be inclined to burn up my life-savings trying to feed it.

Not to poop the party, but for keeping kids off your lawn? With style and respect for tradition?
Gatling gun: $35k
Daisey Red Ryder BB Gun: $75
Discuss amongst yourselves. ;D

So KPR those 5000 rounds are about 12.5 minutes of fun at 400 rounds per minute?

Has anyone ever seen one of these in action?  How did it work?

Never saw it used but used to know a guy who had one, He said it was a jam o matic.
Probably because of being mounted on their sides.
