Down Range Radio goes live?
Well, that is the big question today. I guess we have already made the decision, but we need some feedback.
Here's the deal. In addition to Down Range Radio and Cowboy Action Radio, we want to do some live call-in events on a regular basis or during special events on location.
All shows will be announced in advance and you can listen to them here on downrange.tv . The shows will also be recorded and archived, so if you can't listen to it live, you will be able to download it the same way as you can with the podcasts.
The difference between the regular podcasts and what we call Down Range Live Radio is that you have a chance to participate, call in, ask questions to the hosts and make comments on specific topics. We will also have special guests from time to time.
This is a feature for 2008 and we want to know your opinion. Which day, hours and topics and so forth. If you have any special requests on guests, let us know. This is your chance to participate live on Down Range and make DownRange.TV the very best site for gun enthusiasts.

Sounds like a GREAT idea!
As to day and time My choice would be Saturday mornings but that is not realistic for you West coasters so how about Noon EST?
OR late evening say 9pm EST and it could be any Mon through Thurs.
-
FANTASTIC idea. I agree with Hazcat on the day and time choices. Further, I would suggest staying away from Sunday afternoons as that is when Tom Gresham broadcasts GunTalk, a similar call in type show with gun industry guests, from 2 to 5 pm (EST). Looking forward to this idea coming to fruition.

I love the idea of being able to call in and have a vigorous discussion on the issues. The day of the show would be best on the weekends. The time of the show is not an issue.
Just let me know.

Does this mean I would be able to ask my stupid questions.............GREAT.
-
I would prefer during the week, in the evenings like 9pm MST.. :)

SOunds like a great idea! Weekdays some time in the evening would be best. I dunno what guest I could suggest that you probably don't already have in mind. Like Walt Rauch, some of the instructors from places like Gunsite, the heads of some of the gun companies..... Maybe a representative from Crimson Trace.

Kick it off in HIGH VOLUME with Uncle Ted.
-
Now you are just going to make me change shifts at work ain't ya? :'(
-
Any day is ok with me. But 9PM MST is after my EST bed time! I would be asleep.

Maybe get Jim Supica once in a while for both history buffs and cowboy action folks . I'm with CDR and Warhawke. I work nights, but I already listen to Guntalk on podcasts as no stations around here carry it. Like the idea of having "The motor City Madman " as first guest
-
I agree that the Nuge as the first guest is a great idea. ;D

I think some excellent guests for Down Range Radio, from an instructors perspective, would be Il Ling New, Ed Head and Eric Olds from Gunsite. Additionally, I really enjoy listening to Bill Murphy, Massad Ayoob, Walt Rauch and certainly Clint and Heidi Smith. I also think Tom Gresham would be a great initial guest as no one knows gun talk radio better than he does. Great idea to have Uncle Ted headlining.
From a manufacturers' and gunsmiths' perspective, and I'm partial to 1911s, I think individuals like Richard Heinie, Les Baer, Bill Laughridge, Ted Yost, Lew Bonitz, Wayne Novak, Ron Phillips, Bill Wilson, Ed Brown, Jim Clark, Bruce Gray and Bill Rogers, to name just a few, would be wonderful to hear from.
An interesting element to the show could be to bring on some of the famous political anti-gunners in the country to have a reasonable and controlled debate to share both perspectives. A show with "his honor" Michael Bloomberg and Chuck Shumer could be a pay per view event if it could be pulled off. Hillary will be available in a month or so and should be looking for something to do.

I'll be available for a guest appearance or two. ::) ;D

EXCELLENT!!!!!!! It appears the Nuge just got bumped.

I've seen Ted live, sure hope Don can knows how to rock. Or at least go full-auto :P
-
I would be happy to offer myself as a guest as well.
As I know more about my opinion than most people do
Jon

Hodman, we'd rather have you share it here, then we will know almost as much about your opinion LOL
-
I only have access to a computer nights, but one guest I'd like to have is the CEO of Cerebus to find out what their goal is for all the firearms property they are purchasing.

Hilarious! I hope you make the show.

Thanks! We're working on a new cd- I'm thinking when it's done maybe I'll see about renting a little ad space from Mike and the Marshalls to push it here. Might even come up with a gun song!

I've got a guitar case my dad padded to hold a shotgun and some extra shells. It'll also hold his AK47 pretty nicely.

I just wanted to reply that I would enjoy DR radio live. And honestly think that Mr. Bane should try to get a syndicated show. Guntalk is nowhere near as good DR's podcast. Just wish you would do an hour. I like all your thoughts and views on guns, equipment, and ccw.
