No I have not done mine yet.
-
I don't think I have all my paperwork yet.
-
Been using Turbo Tax since 2004, averaged a $2000 refund give or take, right now it's up to $1800, got the wife's medical expenses, home office, and a few other deductions that I have to wring out....
right down to all the receipts, and solar water heater.....
Bastards..... got to play the game.... to find the deductions... I wish we had the Fair Tax....it would render the IRS obsolete, and keep it simple stupid...
But our current gov't cut my child tax credit from $1000 last year to $800 this year.. >:(
And child support is NOT tax deductible, but receiving it is....
Bastards......

Almost done for a change - I usually wait until the end of March even though I usually get a refund. My hard drive crash in November messed Quicken up, so I can't import directly from Q to TurboTax this year. But I am 98% done - have all the big stuff in, get to deduct the first $2400 in unemployment income, which is nice. All I need to do is locate the receipt and certificate for the storm door I added this fall so i can get a small credit on that and boost the refund a few cents.
-
got to wait till June 30 for our financial year to end
then going to get another gun hehe
-
I got to see what I can deduct this year with all the medical expenses.
-
Sheeet, I've got my refund back already!
Now I just need to find a good deal on a new Beretta A400.
-
Done.....mine are simple....filed the state return on Tuesday and got the direct deposit notice today.
The federal I filed the last week in January and should have back my return this week. I try and break even on the Fed return but with the tax credit, I got a bit of MY money back.
Total combined of 688 bucks....
No debt, no mortgage, no deductions.....no problems...
-
Done and got the return back yesterday $$$$ I'll be DEBT FREE for the first time in 15 years on Monday! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I plan on buying a S&W M&P15-22 to celebrate! ;D ;D

WHAMO! I hate doing mine, even with tubo. Never seem to quite enough for itemized deduction, but close enough to have to try it. Get paperwork from the kids colleges that seems hard to understand and apply.
When taxes are done, then have to fill out the college financial aid forms for the kids and there is no turbo for that. Have to have the taxes done for that, and the financial aid forms are due before taxes. Between the two I really hate this time of year.
-
Shutup........ ;D Thankfully I do have someone who does mine for me.
-
Got to love being able to deduct education expenses. The only thing Obama has done for me was the tax credit for education, the "HOPE" credit of $1000 dollars.
-
They are done. Using half of loan to the feds on a trip to a friends funer...I mean wedding this summer the other half I put on a 10-22 and an ATI stock and a 50 round mag for it. Can't wait to get to the range. Probably will go Monday
-
You guys guilt tripped me into doing mine tonight
-
In our home income taxes comes under the heading of "Wife's Task." She used to work for an accountant, and this is what she did. Once we quit farming, I turned all the book work over to her ;D
She has everything done except for a couple forms we need to track down yet. Then it will be double check, triple check, and hope to get the refund before we leave on vacation ;D

The only good thing about being un-employed (we don't count the cash for research deals I have going ;)) is that having finally paid off my student loans, I get to use the 10-40 EZ for the first time in decades. Y'all have inspired me to do that tommorrow.
FQ13 who is going to enjoy this little blast from the past as oposed to collecting a zillion forms for deductions.
-
Did my 4th quater in dec. The 1st time since I was 16 that I don't owe them anything. still have pay ss, sdi... etc, but no tax.

Use the 1040A form to get the "Making Work Pay" credit of 400 bucks (800 for couples). It doesn't show up on the EZ form.
1040A Schedule M form.
No one really benefits using the EZ form unless you're still in high school...

Yeap! Done and Should have the returns this week. Thankfully Damb Boat cover >:( I was gonna buy a new Walther Compact P99 but that will have to wait now
-

I didn't see it when my daughter was doing her's. Sorry if I mislead anyone.
She ended up using E-file and it took her automatically to the 1040A because she bought a new car last year and got some credits for those sales taxes too. I didn't have the EZ book though, only the forms and I never saw the credit.
-
I just pulled the spare form out of the trash and checked, it's line 8

Try the e-file system, it works really well. The kid had her check in five days and didn't have to worry about the forms too much.

Yep. Thing is, even as a libertarian, I don't even mind paying. I tithe to my Church, pay dues to every club I've ever joined (except this one which is free ;)) and so it does not bother me in principle to pay a third of my income to be a citizen of the US of A rather than some sh*t hole wanna-be nation. I think I get my money's worth. All I want is for that money to be used wisely and not pissed away. I guess I should also start believing in unicorns. :'(

You didn't get your notice yet?
;D

Yes, I'm done....but I never pass up a chance to tell someone to shut up... ;D

Me too....I've done every year since 1973, even during the years I owned a home. As to the refund, I only got a couple hundred bucks back from the feds because of the aformentioned credit. I haven't gotten a refund for at least twenty years myself. My wife is disabled so her SSI is taxable based on my income. I try and break even which I manage to do pretty regularly.
The state gave me back a bit but I owe them money from 2006, apparently I made a boo, boo! Net gain? What's that?
-
Had to wait until all the paperwork arrived. Then I just waited for no good reason. I know I'm going to send some loot to the thieves in DC so I am not all that motivated to get the job finished. I have a pretty good CPA who actually does the deed for me in exchange for even more of my hard-earned. I really hate this time of year. Crap. :'(
And that check question... The answer is: it's what you send along with the filled-out return.
-
Still waiting on paperwork, mainly the wife's home business (Party Lite-frickin candles are EVERYWHERE!!) ONce that's completed off to Jackson-Hewitt. ould probably do them myself but why? I won't be ab;e to touch the refund, to much other stuff to pay for ahead of toys, but a new Sig would be AWESOME. Or the Wilson Spec9 (please Marshal!!??)
-
Now that I actually have enough medical expenses to make itemizing 'worthwhile', they upped the minimum from what it was the last time I was going to itemize (5 or 6 years ago?) and I'm just under.
>:(
BASTARDS!
-
I spent 38 hours documenting 16k in medical expenses 15 years ago...got me an extra $23 back on my return. I hope you have better luck Peg.
And...since it's going to be sunny and a high of 50 on Saturday and because the last three weekends have been rainey or snowy and all below 35 degrees...I'm going to the range to pop a few caps and to Hell with the IRS this week....they'll just have to wait another week.
-
We got our return back last Friday! And we're DEBT FREE as of Monday!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The tax return pushed our savings over the top, and gave us enough to payoff the wife's car! ;D That I'll be the last time I borrow money to purchase consumer goods!
