I picked up 3000rds of 9mm today. :) I got 2k of it @ $200 for a 1000rds ;D, their Federal 95gr JSP Jacketed Soft Points. Any body ever used this stuff? I've never used anything so light before. ??? I'm not sure how their going to work out ::), but for the price I couldn't pass them up. ;) The other case was Winchester 115gr whitebox in 100rd value packs, @ $250 for the case. :-\ Not a big savings, but better that the MagTec at $315 per 1000! I'm wondering if I should have just saved the $50 on the Whitebox and got 3 cases of the Federal? ???

Don't use that....it's horrible stuff. Send it to me for proper disposal immediately ! ! ! ! ! !
So...was this a local store purchase or something from the internet whose location you don't wanna share with your DRTV buddies...??...??
Hmmm? ? ? :)

Yes Rastus, this was a local store purchase for me, if you care to score some for yourself, I got it from Surplus Ammo and Arms in Lakewood, Wa. https://www.surplusammoandarms.com/ (https://www.surplusammoandarms.com/) The also do internet sales. ;) I just looked and the Federal I bought is listed @ $209 for a 1000 on the website, but it's price in the store is @ $199.99 ;D they had at least another 5 cases on the shelf yesterday. What they have in the back is anybody's guess!

Okay finally got the range to shoot some if this Federal 95gr ammo. ;D And this stuff is HOT!!! :o :o :o :o If you get some, it shoots well but you will think your shooting a .40 or .45 in stead of a 9mm! With this stuff you can be sure in the end, the Zombies will die! ;)

Nice to hear. I picked up some 9mm 115gr Rem UMC at Wally World in the bulk packs, $52 for 250 rounds, so a hair more than you paid and you got HP not the ball I got. But for plinking and IPSC (some day), it'll do.
Love the zombie target . . . .

Not sure if you know about these folks, but here you go:
1000 - 9mm 115gr FMJ Brass case Sellier Bellot $219 per 1K
1 case - 1000 rounds 9mm CCI Blazer 115gr FMJ $199 per 1K
1 case - 1000 - 9mm Sellier Bellot Steel Case 115gr FMJ $199 per 1K
At: http://www.sgammo.com/
They have a lot of other stuff besides the 9mm listed and they have never gouged me on shipping.
Hope this helps.
Stay Safe,

There is nothing wrong with anything from Federal that comes in a white or brown box. That ammo will run great. I've run through a ton of it. Now, at least here in Arizona, the supply seems to have dried up. What remains is priced to the Moon! I've since switched to the Federal "Champion" brand of 9 MM FMJ from the local Wal-Mart here in town, when they have it of course.
I've also come across the Winchester NATO 9 MM which is also good stuff. I shoot mostly FMJ in my 9's, then save the brass and reload it. It's about the cheapest way to come into possession of once fired brass for that caliber. If it goes through my 9 MM Glocks, I then segregate it for use in my Sigs. Because of Glocks unsupported chamber design, factory ammo that is fired through them should not be reused in a Glock again because it supposedly reworks the brass too much and can lead to blown cases. I've never had it happen to me, but I at least try to be cautious about it. I do the same for scrounged up range brass that finds it's way home with me. I just automatically assume it was fired in a Glock. Bill T.

Was it making a lot of smoke like some of the bargain rounds? Regardless, you got a good deal!

The 9 MM is a high pressure round when compared to the .40 and .45 ACP. If you compare a 9 MM to a .38 Special it really becomes apparent by the difference in size. Yet the 9 MM is ballistically equal to, if not superior to the much larger .38. The only way that can happen is increased pressure. A bit like the .45-70 compared to the .458 Win. Mag. Bill T.

No at least not like the winchester white box usually does. And should you actually find some of this stuff I think the very light 95gr bullet has a lot to do with it. But it wasn't down loaded like a lot of range ammo. It felt the same as the winchester 9mm 127gr +P+ ammo I use for carry, but it's not labeled as even being +P ! I think I actually like it a little better for that. Makes for more realistic practice sessions. ;D I think I'm going to take it to my training class at the Firearms Academy of Seattle next month. ;) See how I do with it their! I kinda wonder if Federal might have found a bunch of extra .380 bullets that they didn't have brass for and decided to see what they could do with them in a 9mm. :-\ ??? ::) :P :o

I was at Vance Outdoors in Columbus Ohio last Sat. to pick up a S&W M&P .40 Compact and they had American Eagle 9mm for $10.99 a 50 rd. box with no limit. .22 a round isn't bad for range ammo. They also had the same brand in .40 S&W for $13.99 bx.
They have some of the best gun prices around Ohio. Here's a link if antone is interested in the sale flyer:
http://www.vanceoutdoors.com/
Click on the circular at the top left and the flyer will download. You can save the link and it will update the flyer when the current one runs out.

I'm jealous of some of your finds. Need to hunt down a bunch of calibers as I'm starting to run low again.

I'm looking for information on Federal Ammunition labeled - 9mm luger 95
Grain JSP XM9R01. Any information you could provide would be appreciated
i.e. especially the ballistics, muzzle velocity, Pressure specs,
designed use. I fired it though my M&P9 and I thought it had significant
felt recoil for a 9mm.
I though this stuff was smoking and I reckon I was right! 1400fps! I sent them another request to confirm this is with in the SAAMI specs or if it is +P ammo. I'll let yawl know if I get a reply. I think I'll limit it's use in my KelTec till I find out. And I picked up another 1k of it last week so I now have almost 4k in 9mm on the shelf. 8) I think that will carry me through the summer! ;D I hope!

Got another reply from Federal today stating that, they are loaded to standard 9mm SAAMI specifications. :)

Great pickup. American made by American workers. Higher quality than the korean/russian/brazilian stuff that hit the shelves.

I'm seeing a ton of cheap, non reloadable, steel cased ammo hitting the shelves at Cabela's under the old Herter's name. It's nothing more than repackaged Russian crap made God knows where by God knows who. The fast buck artists are really coming out of the woodwork since ammo prices took off. I keep seeing these odd ball brands that, "Have been making ammo in the hills of Lower Slobovia for decades!" Where were they when 9 MM was $8.47 a box? I still try to stick with American made ammo where ever possible. Bill T.
