I discovered last night that The Sportsmans Channel does their own version of Wednesday at the Range called Lock and Load Thursdays. Their lineup is very similar to the Outdoor Channel lineup. They have a TV version of Handguns magazine, a self defense show, a show about airguns...its a nice setup. The show Personal Defense TV is not quite as informative as The Best Defense, but still has good information. The best part is that it is in HD like Guns and Gear on Versus Channel...
So now we can all have 2 days worth of Gun Shows...sweeeeeet.

Unfortunately, I can't get either channel unless I sign up for a huge sports package including NFL, NBA, etc, etc. I couldn't give a rats behind about those and I refuse to pay for a bunch of channels I won't see.
so...I don't get either unfortunately. :-[

I get both Outdoor Channel and Sportsman's Channel. It is quite clear that Wednesday Night at the Range programing is far superior.

Have yawl tried calling your provider and asking for the channels ALA CART? I think Dish and Direct do it for about $2 each.

That's what I figured I could do but Comcast doesn't seem to either be set up to do that technically or they are unwilling to do that from a buisness perspective. Bundles of channels only.

Yes, the ODC and the SC cost me an extra five spot....plus I get a bunch of other sports programming that I care nothing about.
Wednesdays and Thursdays are my remote nights. The wife gets the other five nights...

Hello;
I have the Outdoor Channel, for $2.99 extra a month. Wednesday nights were my night to watch "Cowboy's". However they have been repeats several times over. I have not watched the Channel lately because of that. I did e-mail Larry Potterfield about that since he sponsors the show and new segments are on the way but when is not sure.
I can watch only so many deer, elk and birds shot for so long until it also gets repetative.
Outdoor Channel had added The Sportsman Channel to the line up months ago and it has the same deer, elk and bird type/style shows. I think I watched about 30 minutes of the Sportsman Channel and skip by it when browsing for somthing on TV.

The show runs on 13 week schedule. So we see repeats the rest of the year.

I have Dish Net, and they don't carry the Sportsmans Channel :'((at least it's not listed on their Guide).

I actually switched from Dish to Direct because of that. When I left they asked me why, so I told them, and the guy said he had never heard of The Sportsmans Channel. :o I explained to him that I had called and emailed several times to ask them to carry it, to a deaf ear from them so I switched. :(

I spoke too soon. I was checking out the EPG and found the Sportsman Channel on Dish Net channel 285 near HBO. I would have never thought to look there, since all the sports channels are between 140 and 154.

Yeah... i was wondering what was going on... I have Dish Network and definitely have The Sportmans Channel.

I wish they would have had it before I left! I liked their DVR better. ;)

Just started getting Sportsman's Channel on DishNetwork.......there are a couple of shooting shows on today at 6:00 I think I'll check out. One is Gresham's show, I think.

I've been watching the gun shows on Sportsman Channel, here are my thoughts:
American Airgunner: really digging this show. It's a magazine style show, with reviews, events, tips, etc. All related to airguns. I'd never realized the improvements in this field vs the Daisy I played with as a kid.
Guns & Ammo TV. I remember this from when it was on Outdoor Channel. Magazine style show. The information never seemed timely, and the information was bland. Better than Guns & Gear, not as good as American Rifleman.
Handguns. A lot like G&A, but as a shooter (vs a hunter), I like the focus better.
Personal Defense TV. Another Outdoor Channel defector. I like TBD better.
Shooters. A unique show with teams competing in different shooting disciplines. I like the setting up in Cody, WY, but the show leaves me cold. Too hunter-ish, the events are bland, and I don't care who wins. It's hard to do a shooting game show.
Tactical Arms. I like this show. A bit like a long version of I Have This Old Gun. Looks at a single weapon.
Tactical Impact. The inner Mall Ninja in me loves this. Tactics, then vs now, shooting scenarios, even a quiz on picking the correct gun (or is this on Arms?).

The inner Mall Ninja in me
He's been outed ;D

I just found out that I had SC. As was said before, why the H did they put it where they did ???
Last night was my first time watching, and I found some interesting shows. Will be watching in the days to come.
As long as they don't move their main shooting night to Wednesday I will be fine. However, if they decide to pull the crap of putting like shows on like nights I will be pissed!
