I have really enjoyed the shows. I have a suggestion that will be useful to those of in the south and desert southwest during summer. Could you show various ideas for concealed carry during times when the temperature soars above 100 degrees? Holsters and gun size become very critical in such weather and sooner or later this "global warming" fiasco will play out and it will be hot once again.
Thanks and carry on the great work.

Pete,
That's why all the little KelTek .380 clones came out and the Ruger LCR. I live in FL so the easiest thing to carry is my Keltek P3AT in an IWB holster or in a pocket holster. Best part is, it's so easy to carry I always have it with me.

You know Haz, That little pea shooter will also work nicely with the pocket holster just shoved in your belt or also really nicely in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans (w/o holster) ;)

Hey guys... I actually taped a training video over the last year covering Cold & Hot weather extremes. It is going to be released soon.
I like Belly Bands under untucked shirts myself....

I have had good luck down here in Tejas wearing a full-sized M&P IWB, in shorts, a tucked t-shirt under an untucked, unbuttoned, camp shirt. Also, considering a Zack Concealment Holster sold by Suarez to tuck in the belt. http://www.onesourcetactical.com/zackconcealmentholster.aspx (http://www.onesourcetactical.com/zackconcealmentholster.aspx)

This is a good hot weather shirt that you can get in both short and long sleeve. Its a better alternative to the Hawaiian print shirts that are in vogue. (Sorry MB) ;D
Plus you gots plenty o pocket to lose all sorts of stuff...

It's good to actually see a recommendation for the belly bands. I've been wondering about them for a while.
Under which line is the video coming out under? Best Defense?

It is part of the Personal Firearms Defense DVD series:

I never could stand Belly Bands, myself. I've always carried IWB or in the pocket.

That setup works well for me here in FL as well. If I want to go even more casual I can go with a tucked in tank ("wife beater") and an untucked tshirt. I carry a Glock 21 this way pretty regularly with a custom inside the waistband holster and a single outside mag pouch. I also have my LCP in a pocket holster. If I need to go a little dressier I use the covert casual shirts from 5.11. They have the velcro and snap breakaways and a mesh lining that really keeps your weapon from printing. I've even gone so far as to have my LCP in a quart sized zipper freezer bag in my pocket while surf cast fishing without a shirt. I could get to the trigger and fire right through the bag if needed. I've actually wondered what a .380 Glaser round would due to a shark. ;D

Like Haz, I am a Florida resident and no stranger to warm weather. 8) A loose fitting shirt, and my Glock 27 hides well in my Fobus paddle, right there on my right hip. On those rare occasions when I need to dress in less, I find the 27 fits nicely in a front pocket in an Uncle Mike pocket holster. On those even more rare occasions when dressing up is required, I have a shoulder rig that does the job. I have tried a belly band, Pager Pal, and Thunderwear but haven't found them to work as well. I can't seem to find a way to sit comfortably with the Thunderwear or the Pager Pal. And a belly band is constricting. I'd actually prefer carrying my Red Hawk, but it's tough to hide that much boom maker.

I still tote a Glock 22 or 21 in the worst of Arizona summer heat. Pancake strong side holster under a COTTON t-shirt. If the sun is really brutal, I add a lightweight cotton button-down shirt worn open. That is casual-comfortable here in AZ during the summer months, and in now way attracts attention like a "shoot me first" photog vest.
I suppose some of you in humid climes will not find that ideal...in AZ it helps keep the sun off, and the heat from baking through your single garment layer.

Para Double Stack 1911 with 5" barrel works in all seasons with a Hawaiian shirt. The sirt can be buttoned when the temp drops below 78 degrees. No worries Mon!

The LCP is a constant companion, pocket carry in a cheap pie DeSantis Nemesis I've used for years. When I lived in Florida I used a fanny pack to carry lots of time. My regular carry fanny pack was bright yellow and had a Grateful Dead patch stitched on it...nobody ever pointed at it and screamed, "Gun! Gun!" I still think a fanny pack will work when nothing else will.
Since I'm strictly a shorts/Hawaiian short guy in the summer, an IWB works fine. Leather ones don't seem to chaff as bad in the summer as Kydex...

I usually carry the same way I do through other seasons, but then again I am an appendix carry type that wears an undershirt year around. I usually will tuck the undershirt in, use the smallest IWB holster I can get that I place on the right side of my stomach, and have the over-shirt cover an m&p compact 9. I've carried everything from a small .380 to a full size beretta 92 this way, using anything from heavy jeans to athletic shorts, and it's done well for me so far as it doesn't print and it makes bending down and running much more comfortable for me.
There are downsides to this method though. If you only wear one shirt I wouldn't recommend it as a hot slide after a stint in the car touching your skin is not fun. It also leaves the barrel pointing in a direction that many men are uncomfortable with, but I've had no real problem with it so far. Can be somewhat annoying while using the restroom as well, but usually when I carry and I have to hit a public restroom, I enter a stall just in case.

The belly band works for you Rob because you're lean and fit. It would be more appropriate to call them the "no belly band" because if you have a belly they don't work so well. ;D I used to use one a few years back but it wouldn't work for me these days.
