From another thread posted here on this forum, I came across NutNFancy's YouTube site. Where a YouTube user's personal info would normally go, he talks about being in the military for 19 years, and then a little later on he says that he has received death threats over, I guess, his reviews of the products he has...well...reviewed.
So, with that said, I have noticed this before, but why does it seem like gun industry people seem to get wrapped up in legal issues and/or lawsuits.
I have one gun manufacturer near me who supposedly tried to set up shop right next to a children's day care center. And then in other local newspaper reports, a landlord had to take him to court for not paying his rent.
I am kinda perplexed by how it seems that gun people get in various forms of legal trouble.
In a way, it kinda makes me to NOT want to progress farther up the USPSA and IDPA ranks...to just kinda crawl under a rock...and stop posting on gun forums entirely.
What say you?

I would say this. Gun people and legal problems. Its not the gun its the people. Some people get into guns for the wrong reasons, (Freudian, got beat up in high school etc.. Too many seem to run for office or join the PD, others buy guns.) Likewise, people who spend hundreds of hours blogging are either bored experts who want to share, or prima donnas (none of those here because we're too damn mean to put up with it ;D). But your blog, your rules though (and this is not even an observation, much less a critique of nutnfancy as I just watched the one video). Still ego, plus inadaquesy, plus a grievance leads to weird behavior. I wouldn't worry about it. One solid look at gun boards says we have our share of yahoos. Its why I like DRTV. The crazy (anyone remeber Onrecess?) tend to get weeded out and most folks seem solid. Its not the gun, its the idiot who owns one for the wrong reason. This isn't as eloquent a post as I'd like, but I think you get the point.

This is your best post ever FQ !

I can't believe it, agreeing twice in one day, but FQ has a point.....
I tend to look at it as the 'people factor' also.
Most of these people would be having legal troubles regardless of what type of work they were in. It just sucks that they chose to be in the firearms industry when they do their major f'ing up.
It's kinda like a turd....it doesn't matter whether it's in a toilet or a crystal punch bowl....it's still just a turd.

Nothing to do with guns. You probably just see it more often because you into guns. Like buying a new truck, then going out on the road and suddenly realizing that everyone drives the same truck as you.

I agree with Quaker, most of these people Tyler is talking about would have been in trouble no matter what field they chose.

Quaker, your post was not only eloquent, but insightful as hell, to boot.
And Peg is right, a turd is still a turd no matter where it's pooped.

:o
WOW!!! See guys, our grand plan, orchestrated by Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin, is working on good ol' FQ.
He's comin' around, (and he thinks it's all his idea),......... ;) ::)
As for the OP and the Internet. A Forrest Gump quote comes to mind,.....Take it with a grain of salt, not all are in legal situations. Just ask MB? All that stuff in the 80's, the statute of limitations ran out long ago....

Bullseye!
