I see they have about 75 member on the board of directors
Bloody hell that is a lot
wouldn't that be a little top heavy
also I am assuming they get paid for being on the board with 75 there that would add up a fair bit
now having NFI on how it is run wouldn't it be better to have say 1 per state at a Max???

Everybody likes to hang out with the 'Nuge' LOL. That is a lot of members.

My understanding is it's an unpaid position. :o

No expenses either. Any air fare or lodging at functions are on them.
Not saying 75 members is not to large, but with the cost shouldered by the board member, it might be that large to allow less than maximum attendance and still have a reasonable sized group present.

I have alway understood that it was fully voluntary and "at own expense" as a board member, and I trust that the previous posts are correct.
Further, I understand the large size of the board is to give a broad spectrum of members. NRA is so large and into so many things that it takes a lot of people to touch all areas and all members. Another benefit of size, even if it wasn't intended, is that if a group tries to infiltrate it will be tough to get a foot hold or majority.

Plus, having 75 board members allows election cycles every year for 1/3 of the board (for 3 year terms) without having to potentially have a bunch of total newbies at hand.

Good policy for our government fools, at their own expense.

It used to be that way. I'm not sure, but I believe FDR was the first president to die rich, but like JFK he was born that way.
