Maybe they are planning a crack down on truancy violations?
-
Looked up the office placing the order:
"The Office of Inspector General (OIG) at the U.S. Department of Education (ED) conducts audits, investigations, and inspections of education programs and operations. Anyone knowing of fraud, waste, or abuse of Department of Education funds should contact the OIG Fraud Hotline to make a confidential report."
Still have no idea why they would need shotguns.

To enforce their 'Zero Tolerance" policy, of course.

Actually, I think this a great idea. The department of education SHOULD be buying shotguns and .22s. A skeet and target range at every school. No Child Left Defenseless. I would see that as my tax dollars well spent. ;D

Why do they need shotguns with 14" barrels?

Maybe because they're the only persons in the room professional enough to handle both shotguns and Glock .40's?.... ;D

Now THAT'S FUNNY!!!!!!! :o ;D
Wonder if that guy ever found a new job?

Sounds like they are complimenting an already existing armory, with training officers no less, probably just for their building, can't have teachers or principals having access to firearms now.
-
Let me get this all straight, a little kid makes a "gun" with his fingers, and gets suspended, another draws a gun on a sheet of paper, and gets suspended, a straight "A" student applying to West Point, parked off campus, has a family shotgun in the car, and for whatever reason is expelled, and than after intense national coverage, is exonerated......
BUT, the Dept. of Ed. gets, nice tactical shotguns????
At least they are Remingtons,.. ;)
(It's a joke,.....before you Mossberg folks start yelling at me,....relax,....its a joke...) ;D

First reaction: Good to see they're finally getting serious about discipline!
Second, more thoughtful reaction: WTF???
-
WOW ! And I thought it was extreme when one of my teachers smacked a kid upside the head .
