REFUSES TO PROCESS TRANSACTIONS . . . Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp. are refusing to process any credit card transactions between federally licensed firearms retailers, distributors and manufacturers -- a move which will severely limit available inventory of firearms and ammunition to military, law enforcement and law-abiding Americans.
The first company to be affected by this decision appears to be firearms distributor CDNN Sports Inc.

The date is January 7 2007 but if you follow the link to the letter from the bank it is dated 12/26/07 so it might be that NSSF dated their release wrong.
UDATE: It looks as though NSSF dated theirs wrong. The notice is from the current (2008) Bullet Points.
This shows yet another way the Anties can mess with us.
Time to get rid of all of our CITIBank cards, mortgages etc. !

Don't switch to ank of America, They issue credit cards to illegal aliens, If you tell them your an illegal, they waive the ssn requirment.

Notice that was the 2nd letter? I would love to see the 1st where they list the reason behind the termanation of the contract.
I have a feeling like him selling anything over the net/mail order/phone was against his Merchant contract.( its a very common in contracts as they charge biz that do non face to faces sales more.) There has to be alot more going on then just that letter...
here is the letter.

This letter is total BS. Citi has no responsibility I am aware of for enforcing the Gun Control Act, nor is interstate selling illegal since CDNN goes through legal channels, i.e., FFLs. This has nothing, in their own words, to do with direct selling vs. merchant selling, this letter makes clear it is about evil GUNS.
Can 'em. Dump 'em. Refuse to do business with anyone with a Citi card. And tell Citi what you're doing and why.

MB,
You have contacts at NSSF (you started it didn't you?). Can you get us some more details?

Another example of the banking industry doing as it pleases. ZERO oversight by our elected officials.

I wish I did business with them just so I could tell them where to go. :o

I am not sure if Armalite stated the company, but they ran into the very same thing and had to shut down their online ordering system.

I have no citibank cards ;)

But it's not just Citi cards... It looks to be the main doings of First Data Corp. (an Omaha firm) that processes some 60% of cc transactions.

This is an interesting topic that I was not aware of. Thanks for posting it HAZCAT.

I wonder about making an order...and then something goes on backorder that might go over the 28-JAN-08 expiration date. What happens then? In case the credit card company screws a person over on.....legal trade...how can they stop it according to their terms? Any chances for a class action lawsuit??? Lawsuits are really for protecting real rights and curing real damages. Is someone denying persons the right to exercise their legal 2nd ammendment rights using legal trade with legal transfers? If someone uses a debit card and are denied the use of their own funds what is that implication? These guys need to be punished where it matter$ if they are, and it appears they may be, denying the exercise of constitutionally guaranteed rights. Any explanations or ideas here from 2nd Ammendment loving lawyers?
I would be surpised if the slugs that run the CC companies worry this much about pedophiles using their cards to support perversion. This is one screwed up country right now....right is wrong. What more can you say?

Excellent point, Joe. Any class action suit must be aimed at them too. Lots of depositions, subpoenas that keep them from addressing business as usual. And as I noted earlier, I do believe the US Government has the sole responsibility for enforcing the various Federal laws, although businesses do have a responsibility to comply. Also, I do believe that only Congress has the power to regulate interstate commerce - Citi/FDC may in fact be violating that as well.
As they said in Tombstone (the movie) - Burn 'em! Burn 'em all! So sue them, drop them as a vendor, refuse to do business with them, refuse to accept their credit cards, whatever it takes.
Ford is in trouble in part for their stands on the environment (anti-farming and anti-ranching) and homosexuality (pro), the NY Times is crashing and burning financially due in part to their rabid leftist views. So let's do it to Citi and FDC too.
No Shrug Zone here, let's not shrug this off.
