Yes. it works like a champ. Right up there with Marvel Mystery Oil.  Even PB Blaster. They will do the job...

Yep...it's good stuff.
I use it as much or more than Hoppes.

Kroil is my primary goto cleaner, above Hoppes, it is an excellent and cheap bore solvent. Followed by JB bore cleaner. Very good for cleaning rust or corrosion, gives great corrosion protection, but is a horrible lube. I usually follow with FP 10, for lube and extended corrosion protection.
