A FIREARMS manufacturer in the US has announced a sales promotion sure to draw fire: buy a truckload of guns and get the truck for free.
ArmaLite president Mark Westrom is also running a competition to get people to guess how many guns fit in the US military truck, MyFox National reported.
Mr Westrom, from Illinois, has been collecting army trucks for 12 years but he said it was time to part ways with the vehicles — sparking the idea of a "truckload" sale.
"It's not funny," said Mr Westrom of the gun deal.
"It's serious business. It's serious socially and, even though there's a tinge of humour in a truckload sale of rifles, they're very strictly regulated."
Due to government regulations and State Department rules, selling enough guns to fill one of Mark's old trucks will only be possible for companies that distribute or re-sell them.
However the trucks themselves can be had by any buyer for the right price, Fox 4KC reported.
ArmaLite makes and sells semi-automatic rifles in a variety of calibres that are used by military and police organisations, security firms and sportsmen around the world.

In case you're a bit slow on the uptake ;D....America, well, its a very weird place. A truckload? Only in America do you give away a truck to sell "assault rifles" or give away those same rifles to sell a truck (cf the free AK with every new f-150 thread) And its all legal. ::) ;D I love living here, but you do have to keep a sense of humor. Besides (unless you're Bill or Kilo) how many ARs do you need? ;D One will do me just fine and I wish you could have one too. Wouldn't mind the truck though. :-\

I was at my local shop one time, and they had gotten in a couple AR-10's fro Armalite. Ya know what else was in the order?? An ARMALITE branded TOASTER. The dealer gave it to one of the regulars that was in there (No, not me....)

hm... wonder what I would need to put on my PTA to get that...
I can just see the media going nuts over this one a HiPowered Toaster that is capable of making toast in 3 mins + the extra crumpet option that would terrorise any unsuspecting family..

Sad thing is that I believe you. God bless Texas and I wish we could share our particular brand of wierdness with phil. I pity the Aussies, love their attitude, hate their government and would not utter a peep if a million of them crossed the border illegally as sometimes blood is thicker than water. We could do a whole lot worse.

Why isn't the toaster black or OD green? That should be a no-brainer, given that it's from ArmaLite.
