I seem to recall the History Channel's show said that the initial gun was destroyed after the trials.  Which gun was used against the 1911?  I thought there were only two produced.

Another way of looking at it:  You could re-arm a P-51 Mustang over 100 times at present day ammo prices with the cost of that there shootin' iron...

I also thought on the History Channel they showed a guy reproducing them by hand.  Wonder if his business is still going?

I recall hearing the same thing, only 2 produced and the last time the surviving one was auctioned it went for 9 Mil,
The other one was lost to history, but presumed destroyed in testing.

There use to be a gun smith in the southwest that made repos of them.  they were like 3k, not heard about it in years so he may not be doing them any more.
