I looked at a model one few years back. I had no earthly need for it, just thought it was cool and at $250 used it was a great price. Reviews seemed to question their accuracy though. Mind you not AK bad, just 3 MOA range. That turned me off as, if I've got one shot I want a tack driver. That said, in the field 3 MOA is as good or better than I'll shoot. And it sure is a pretty gun. I'd check the reviews before buying, but for something different, simple and well built its hard to argue with.

As far as I can tell, the Ruger model 1 has been made in EVERY caliber, so the chief advantage to getting one is to get it in a weird chambering you're interested in.

not sure
they are around $1300     and I want to get a 357 leaver,  browning, x-bolt, and a pink .22 for the little one before I get one of them.

they do look cool though

$1300???!?!?!?!?!?

We need to find a better way to get you "stuff" philw,.....

Perhaps through some renegades in Tazmania? Even the markup wouldn't be $1300.....

Like those $10,000 AR's, you have there......Some Commercial Fisherman out of Auckland???? We can do better,....

Geez,... :-\

No BS Phil. If its legal on both sides of the pond and you pay shipping and dealer's fees, I'll get you one for less than $700. $1300? Yikes!

PS I researched prices a bit.  Scratch the less than $700 unless you want 30.06. Other calibers, figure less than $900, so probably more than two transfer fees and shipping to Oz would cost. Still, a lot of ducats unless you're buying in .375 H@H for water buffalo in the Northern Territories. In which case, single shot? You're a better (or dumber) man than I am gunga din. Me, for that kind of green, I'd buy a Ruger M77 or a Savage 110, load one round and pretend. A more accurate rifle and a whole lot cheaper.
FQ13 who doesn't like to renege on an offer, but the damn things have gone up quite a bit in the last three yers since I priced them. Sorry. :-[
