I have an idea, borne of the pain of having to pay for every round I fire.
If DRTV could somehow work out a deal with an ammunition manufacturer or supplier that we could all access that would give us a decent discount on ammo, that would RULE! The ammo costs are just killing us, and having no sponsors or anything it would be a real treat to get a break somewhere- even if it's just practice ammo...
AND, if that were available, it might greatly increase the traffic on DRTV website!
Another idea might be a coupon from gun MFR for DRTV folks to be applied to any new firearm. Huh, Huh???
I'm sure someone has already suggested these things, but just in case, I'm just throwing it out there.

Lemme float the idea with Black Hills, who are the most open to such things...

As Michael wrote, we'll see what we can do.
Since 2008 will be our first "regular year".... (2007 was a beta, testing and learning period), we will work close with the upcoming partners and advertisers. We are in the middle of signing advertising contracts which will increase our resources and make DRTV even better.
Discounts and special rates is not on the list as we speak, but if we can come up with something that is doable, we'll try. We talk with the industry on a daily basis, including their marketing people.

Just let the fine folks on Industrial Road (Black Hills) know that such an agreement would benefit the most solid forum on the intarwebz... Prove it by pointing out that a discerning Rapid City native (lil' ol' me) has chosen DRTV over the competition.
That ought to do the trick... I'm kind of a big deal back home (in my mind).

I honestly did NOT know that last year was beta time... This seems like such a solid site, and now I'm REALLY impressed. You guys had it together really well right off the bat. Like I said, when I stumbled on this I thought it had been up and running since Hector was a pup.
So anyway, you've got say a hundred folks (nice round number with a stick and two wheels). If most of us start buying from a particular vendor, thats a pretty significant position for you guys to be in.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! When I started checking out Down Range TV I also thought you had been around a looooong time just from the pure volume of topics and posts. You are doing a whole lot right!!!!!!!!

Down Range came about during last year's SHOT SHOW in Orlando. I was walking around in Kansas promoting cowboy action shooting, when Michael called me and asked me to join him on DRTV. We had talked about this before on and off and had much of the framework done at least on paper.
When the decision was made, it took us almost 2 weeks to get DRTV up and running and on Feb 3, 07, we went live. We decided to build the "kingdom" online as we walked down this new online path of multimedia and interactive broadcasting.
This is all a new frontier and there are actually no fixed answers on how to do this right. We simply decided to work on a live beta version.
I guess you can say we really don't know when we went from beta to production... LOL
Thanks to all of you, our great forum members and loyal friends in the gun world, I do believe we have found the right platform and you will be able to enjoy the results as we run wild through 2008.

In fear of coming across as ungrateful because I have enjoyed this site and Shooting Gallery and the blog, for one of these giveaways I have two suggestions 1)tickets to us mere mortals to Shot Show 2) a huge haul of ammo.
But this is just my plug nickle

It's a COOL sight we can argue like crazy on one thread (Election) and swap info, stories and tips with the exact same folks on others . Almost like family
