I can not watch it as it won't work out side the US
the comment from the forum I found it when it was posted
I detect a change in perception if a typically "liberal" show like this is fairly pro-gun (at least in this peice)
The open carry guys at least had some fun with it, the anti's came off like the grumpy, close minded folks they are.
I am just waiting for "my way" of watching it ;)

"Video Not Available In Your Area".
No matter, if this is Jon Stewart he is nothing more than another liberal, smart a$$ comedian, much the same as a Bill Maher type. These liberals are having their stupid ideologies placed right in the store window for everyone to see and criticize. They cannot argue their point with any common sense simply because there is none, and even less inside their Lemming like minds. Their routine is getting old and boring to watch. They will be next in line to fall, just like their brothers and sisters did over in liberal talk radio. Simply put, they are fast becoming a vanishing breed. Good riddance. Bill T.

they talk about the "life style" of being a firearms owner and draw paralls to the Gay movement
now if you watched the vid and remove gay and replace it with open carry you can see what I mean

Freemen own guns (and are able to carry them), slaves don't.
Sort of shows how Mr. Helmke wants to define a normal human.

When it comes to concealed, and open carry, as well as gun ownership in general, the anti gun movement's logic is always based on the belief that any normal, civic minded individual will automatically be transformed into a raging lunatic as soon as they pick up a firearm. This argument makes about as much sense as Clinton marching around saying the Tea Party movement in this country could in fact "manufacture" another Timothy McVeigh with all of it's "hate speech". But of course when the ultra liberal left was comparing Bush to Hitler, and accusing him of murder and all sorts of other vial crap, that had zero consequences. All of this slop is word for word straight from Saul Alinsky's playbook. Bill T.

He's a NOT TOO FUNNY comdedian who manage to wrangle a half hour comedy show on a comedy network. Since, he's used it as a non-sensical 'bully pulpit" of the left and sometimes, on rare occasion (very rare) he also might brush a weak left jab at the president or any of his minions.
As Ann Coulter Laura Ingrahm said of Bruce Springsteen..."Shut up and Sing!" or tell jokes cuz no-one with any intelligence will listen to entertainers and their political hog wash!

Stewart's audience is minuscule when compared to the viewership Fox achieves in their prime time lineup. They smash everyone else in every single key demographic. The Comedy Channel, MSDNC, and CNN are in big trouble ratings wise. Their employees like Stewart, Chris, ("I got this thing running up my leg"), Matthews, and all of the other whacked out liberals know this fact well. It contributes to their lashing out at Fox, on what has come to be a continual basis.
Less than 20% of this country is described as "liberal". It seems larger simply because they make so much noise. Again, straight from Saul Alinsky's playbook. Bill T.

Here's a link to the video in question: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-april-12-2010/open-carrier-discrimination (http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-april-12-2010/open-carrier-discrimination)
The piece is designed to depict gun folks as quasi-homosexuals who are mentally unstable (Paul Helmke's statement in the piece). In other words, a bunch of fat, middle-aged guys who have a few screws loose and are not secure in their masculinity.
At least that's what I took away from it.

That's pretty much it. They had a chance to make it serious, but had they, it would have proved the conservative point of view. Stewart is famous for this kind of twisted humor. He makes a good living off it. All that was needed were credits at the end that said, "Written and directed by Michael Moore". Bill T.

What makes his show funny (and sad) is that the "stories" are usually more truthful than the MSM.
But I think he stole that idea from MB. He did talk about "coming out of the closet" on the podcast several times...
