I'm thinking maybe the rank and file Navy guys, including the officers, do not like the political overtones of these charges. I'm also guessing one of the 3 will be found guilty of some infraction as a political sop.

I shall post a reply to same article from a Navy forum and leave the rest to the group:

"Now, hopefully the courts martials for the other two noble warriors will go similarly.  They are heroes whose personal stories of valor should cause those who brought and kept pressing the charges all the way to a trial in the first place to hang their heads in shame for being the scum sucking bottom feeders that they are.  And excuse me if I add that I hope they rot in some fetid and hot assignment in the afterlife for being the weak and cowardly quibblers that is reflected in their otherwise tarnished character.  A simple investigation might have been needed, but it shouldn't have gone any farther. Thats a great statement and I would like to also point out that these brave warriors CHOSE to take this to a court martial in order to clear their good names. They were given a chance to have what amounted to a strike on their record, but being the Alpha males that they were they decided not to back down from the fight. I think this speaks volumes about the type of men the SEALS are.

I also thought it was funny that all the news coverage of this story (no matter who was covering it) always asked about the SEAL's morale during all this..... Morale? Really? Those guys endure stuff that we could never image and its all just another day at the office..... They probably thought the idea of having to face a court martial was laughable.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

yeah....the thought of SEALS "copping a plea" makes me chuckle.

The media questions about how their moral is holding up shows they have no concept of the character of these men.

I see advertisements calling blood donors heroes...and I don't mean to lessen the donors generosity and caring....but to think that the trials and tribulations of donating blood reflects heroism shows a dumbfounding lack of comprehension of the dedication, commitment to duty and country, and true heroism that all our servicemen show with groups like the Navy SEALS being at the top of the scale.

"They would release him even if he had killed an Iraqi and not just beaten him," said Ahmed Abdul Aziz Khudaeir, teacher in Fallujah.
We'll remember that the next time the terrorists get together for a publicized beheading, of an American,,,, or perhaps you would prefer Saddam and his "thugs" back, coming to your house and making members of your family "disappear".....

Plus it wasn't a beating, it was a well deserved punch in the mouth. (What an idiot).

Great news!

Great news. But I do disagree on the morale front. These do and endure too much for too little, they can't even brag on what they've accolished as its its classified. They also have a worse time of it then cops and regular soldiers family wise for all the same reasons and then some. Screw them over like this, tell them they'll be hung out to dry after operating in impossible circumstances for political reasons for a tenth the money they could make with Halliburton? You'd be an idiot not to ask "Why am I doing this for you ungrateful a-holes again"? I hope the other two trials go the same way.

Look at how they shafted Commander Marcinko, they put him in prison over office politics.

It is amazing to me, that the same A hole, who had you killed him outright, would not be a problem, but because you didn't gets some kind of protection, and the man who spared his life is suspect.  Pretzel Logic.

Excellent, and they only took 2 hours to find not guilty. Wonder what planet they will station the puke that came forward to testify against him.   Finally some good news.
