Title: Is this a sign?
Post by: ericire12 on April 22, 2010, 11:37:25 AM
So with the micro .380 craze still at its peak, why would these two guns be showing up on the used market? This is the first that I have seen ANY of the NEW micro .380s on the used market.

S&W is also jumping on the leetle .380 bandwagon.

I'll just keep my Kel-Tec, but at least with my Wather PPK/S I can beat the BG with it,.... ::)

TW.....this past week as you know, I was able to have a bit of fun with the PPK.  I'd shot hundreds of rounds through one years and years ago but never carried one in a holster.  I dropped it into a JIT slide for my 1911, and though loose, it worked for the range.

I found it quite comfy and even though it's nearly as heavy as my Ruger SP101 at 23 oz vs 25, the PERCEIVED weight of it was quite surpising.  I'm hooked and looking for a blued version.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

In the novels preceding Dr. No, Bond uses a .25 ACP Beretta automatic pistol carried in a light-weight chamois leather holster, however, in From Russia, with Love, in the draw, the gun snags in Bond's jacket, and, because of this incident, M and Major Boothroyd order Bond re-equipped with a Walther PPK and a Berns-Martin triple-draw holster made of stiff saddle leather. He continues using this pistol until John Gardner's License Renewed, where he uses different weapons, choosing the ASP 9 mm in later books. According to Gardner in the novel for License to Kill, the Walther PPK is not Bond's favorite weapon ( note - The PPK was the gun that failed during the attempted kidnap of Princess Anne ). With Raymond Benson, Bond begins using the PPK again until being updated in both the film and novelisation Tomorrow Never Dies with the Walther P99.

It's still a Walther, It's still a Walther, (I'm clicking my heels together), It's still a Walther,....

Originally in 32. props or not, it shot blanks,..... ;D (rubber prop gun indeed),....

Most .380's are fixed barrel blow back operated, and surprise people with the snappy recoil, the Magnum Research is such a pistol and very small, the Taurus appears to be a tilt barrel, and that softens recoil quite a bit. Kind of like people who handle a light weight J frame in .357 and say wow it's so light and it fits my hand, true enough, until they fire the 1st round. Who knows why these 2 showed up, I'll bet the smallest one was more than the owner expected. Not to mention, it might not have worked, I have a NAA Guardian in .32, it is not reliable, but I got it free, my .32 Tomcat Beretta eats anything and spits it back out. I paid 150.00 for it, I guess I got what I paid for  ;D

But in the Iconic movie poster Sean Connery is holding a Webley Pellet Pistol  ;D

And the suppressor is a "Carswell". It's the same set up Jack Higgins character Sean Dillon prefers.

I picked up a used Kel Tec P 32 recently, to echo what M25 said, perhaps the owner found it to small, small guns are much harder to shoot than larger guns because space is so limited and the parts are necessarily smaller, It is almost physically impossible for me to accurately fire an NAA revolver, it is just to darn small for my hand .
It is also possible that they come from the estate of some one like us and you are missing some real good guns .
