Title: Defending the Gadsen Flag
Post by: fightingquaker13 on May 15, 2010, 03:33:41 PM
I just read an editorial against Arizona's immigration law.The author assailed the Tea Partiers (tea baggers ;D) as dangerous extremists and saw the Gadsen flag as the new burning cross.

Now look, I am not part of the Tea Party and have some issues with them. I doubt they'd let me join if I wanted to. But they are miles away from the KKK. Its not Obama's race that pisses them off, its the agenda. What really got me was the Gadsen reference. To me, that flag is the perfect symbol of a free republic. The copperhead snake is a generally peacable creature and rarely bites anyone. The "Don't Tread on Me" logo is the exact opposite of agression. It is a purely defensive stance. I can think of few things a free man (or woman) in a democratic republic would want said about them more than "They were easy to get along with, but dangerous to cross". Racist? No, thanks for playing though, and by the way, kiss my ass. Rant over.

Being the ignorant types that most of them are, we can forgo use of the Gadsen flag, we'll use this one instead. Think they'll have a problem with it?   ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  (those are evil grins BTW)

They fear (and thus demonize) that which they do not understand.  It is really quite sad.
