PRESIDENT Barack Obama is postponing his trip to Indonesia and Australia - again.
The president was to visit both countries later this month along with a quick stop in Guam.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said just after midnight (US time) that Obama was delaying the trip to some undetermined date with "deep regret."
No immediate reason was offered. But the timing comes as the United States is grappling with the worst oil spill in the nation's history.
Obama called the leaders of Indonesia and Australia last night to share the news. Gibbs said Obama looks forward to rescheduling so he visit both nations soon.
"President Obama expressed his deep regret that he has to postpone his trip to Asia that was scheduled for later this month,'' Mr Gibbs said.
"The president looked forward to rescheduling so that he can visit both countries soon.''
Mr Obama was scheduled to visit Australia in June after postponing a March trip due the passage of his health care bill.
Mr Obama had rescheduled the visit to both countries for later this month, but Mr Gibbs said just after midnight on Friday (US time) that the president was delaying the trip to some undetermined date with ``deep regret''.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies, Phil. I'm sure that you and your mates were really looking forward to having the
POS, I mean POTUS, grace your country with his presence. The citizens of the U.S. would like to make it up to you, however, by forcing, I mean allowing him to remain in Australia, when he does visit, for the rest of his term. ;D
