Title: Biased reporting - who'd a' thunk it?
Post by: Ichiban on June 07, 2010, 06:07:16 PM
Reuters under fire for removing weapons, blood from images of Gaza flotilla
News agency rejects charges of biased coverage, says it reverted to use of 'original set' of images once cropping discovered.

The Reuters news agency has been accused of removing images of activists wielding weapons and bloodied and wounded Israeli naval commandos from photographs taken on board a ship headed for Gaza during deadly clashes last week.

The MSM is also very reluctant to release VHF radio transcripts of the Israeli Navy repeatedly warning the ship to change course.

The ship's officer replied:

SHUT UP AND GO BACK TO AUSCHWITZ!!!

Please send to the UN, BHO, and any other idiot that is asking why Israel is being so mean.... >:(

Israel showed, again, extreme restraint, my response would have been "You have 10 minutes to get the women and children to the life boats, because your going down".

Bastards.

This just keeps getting worse and worse. I don't see anyway this can go except to all out war for Israel. Even that old, repulsive, witch Helen Thomas lost her job over anti semitic comments made about Israel yesterday. That country is surrounded by muslim enemies, and there is no way out for them except to kill them. ALL of them. My guess is the only thing holding them back is procurement of enough guns, ammo, and supplies for a war that will involve the deaths of what could be millions.

Israel is becoming trampled on in the world press on an almost daily basis. If you think about it, they just might as well give the world something to talk about. If your doing the time it seems fit to do the crime. Personally, 3 or 4 million fewer muslims should result in positive press, not negative.  Bill T.

I would like to see Isreal give this response.

Plus a big 100, Bill.  If you're going to be blamed anyway, you may as well do what they've charged you with doing.  And I can follow your logic re: 3-4 million fewer mohammadanists (they hate that name) too.  Netanyahu is a true hero in my eyes.  And I know that Israel will acquit itself well in any war that's thrust upon them.  My concern is which side will my country support?  I know the vast majority of my fellow countrymen and women are on the side of Israel.  But, we have this anti-Semitic mohammadanist in the WH, so it's anybody's guess.

We also have folks like Ike, Nixon, Kennedy and Bush senior who recognize that the interests of Israel and the interests of the US are not identical. Yes Virginia, our allies can be assholes from time to time. The question is whether the current administration, (like the elder and smarter Bush) has the stones to  explain to Netanyahu exactly who is in charge of this relationship. They do what they are told (on the important things) or they can see if China or Russia will sponsor them. I support Israel on this particular issue, but the arrogance of Netanyahu grates. He slapped us in the face. He needs to be put firmly in his place. Otherwise, people will ask who is in charge of this alliance. And Rabbit, my knowledge of theology, history and economics are just fine thanks (though my spelling could use some work :-[).

Actually, Bibi was the one slapped in the face and shown his place - exiting the WH past the garbage waiting to be picked up. bho has already insulted him, and let's just say, do that to an Israeli and you will not get much in return. Not much positive that is.

PS: On the subjects of "knowledge of theology, history and economics", take CR's advice - they all need work. Lots of work.

FQ,

Nations don't have friends,  they sometimes have common interests.

The USA needs a ally and operating base in the eastern Med. Israel needs a trading partner and ally in the west.
The difference between Obama and Netanyahu?
Netanyahu was a soldier that has bled for his country and represents the people that elected him.
Obama welll.....

Did Bush the Elder get Israel to back down? Depends how you look at it. You could say Israel had the coalition change the focus of the air war from prepare the battlefield to SCUD hunting.

Damn! Right you are. Did Bibi even get an audience with The Won?

Not only did Netanyahu shed blood for his country, his brother (Yonaton (Jonathan) Netanyahu),was the leader of and the only Israeli killed (by a sniper from the control tower) during the Entebbe rescue of the hostages taken there by Arab terroists.

You're right on that.  Bibi was left to cool his heels for two-hours after being scolded by Odamna, while The Won had  dinner with the family.
Really doesn't matter if your Jewish or Buddhist, if you ain't an America-hating mohammadanist you won't get respect from this WH.

I think the Dalai Lama and Bibi got exactly the respect they deserve. They are both self righteous pains in our ass with way too high an opinion of how much we actually care about their countries. I mean honestly, if Israel and Tibet were nuked tommorow, how much would your life change? Thought so. That is the lesson every American President should give to the Dalia Lama and the Israeli PM. You need us, we find you convienent, here's what you're going to do, or I'll talk to the Syrians. FP is about realism. We don't have friends, we have interests.

Obviously you missed history class that day. The Dalai Lama is a spiritual leader. Not the president. Granted things work a little differently in Tibet. Sort of similar to Vatican City, where the pope is the leader of the country. So if you are going to nuke the Dalai Lama, you had better be for nuking the Vatican too so as not to appear a hypocrite.

No hypocrisy, nuke all three. Hell, add Mecca and one could argue the world would be a better, or at least more rational place. ;)

FQ, you are so far off base about the DL that it is not even funny.
Even dope smoking pacifist BO supporters have "Free Tibet"  stickers, all the "Head shops" sell them.
If members of NORML and the John Birch Society both think it's a worthy cause , it makes you look wrong.
The CIA retrained Survivors of the Tibetan Army held off the Chinese Army for months.
As a side note, the DL is not, and does not claim to be the leader of the Nation, that is the function of the Panchem Lama who , until his death was a tool of the Chinese and lived in Peking. The DL is the Spiritual leader of the Tibetan People.
